Our operators in Korea used to tell us the Deuces were leaking all of the time. We kept telling them to bring them in for service when they stopped leaking. They would ask why.....we told them...BECAUSE ITS OUT OF FLUID! LOL!
Yep,
There are few surplus/MV outfits today that are reasonable on prices....supply and demand.
Too bad my wallet over rides demand!LOL!
It's cheaper to buy a near scrap truck and invest in rebuild parts available COTS, then stock your own parts for a rainy day! A reman engine costs more...
It amazing that these retired beasts can still do that kind of work and not even break a sweat.....usually it takes something5x the cost of the Deuce to get that done.
Awesome!
Flatbed and receiver. IMO it might be more useful. You could fab stake pockets and build side boards, then install a dump set up, then......
LOL! Do you see how this starts!
I guess it really depends on your needs. I may get a bobber for a second deuce, but I prefer the second axle for my...
Sweeeeeet!
Good to see you got the green light from the boss! After I bought a couple of horses for my wife, I hinted at the idea of a heavy truck for hay, feed, etc. She was sooo Leary of my Harley I decided to trade it for a 5 ton. Done right.....NO! Still wanted a Deuce. Thanks to the...
Guaranteed, you will spend more than you paid for it to get it on the road.....safely. Worth spending that much to get it going........to me, yes. I am a Vet, I saw these trucks leave the Army. I'm also a gear head. I'm doomed.......you might have a chance to walk away, most of us do not.
You can also source parts just by searching "M35A2 parts" on the net. Some places are half the price of others, some have more selection, some have custom fab available by request. A few are within a couple hundred mile radius from you as well. There usually is not a one-stop shop for everything...
LOL! You definitely could buy it, part it out and buy TWO running trucks! I'd say it was a good deal if you already planned to spend a few grand to get it into beast mode. For a toy hauler you definitely would want to go through the brakes. Even after you paid for parts, freight/shipping on...
No need for hesitation, just get one! LOL! All MV's are awesome machines.......all have quirks. I personally do not like CTIS. As soon as I get the opportunity and the right price I'll probably add one to my motor pool. Of course, I'll tell her (the wife) that's her truck! That's about the only...
When I was a young soldier my buddies and I ragged out 900 series 5 tons, Deuces, HEMTT's and HMMWV's we could get our hands on. We were mechanics, so our "road tests" were "justified." These trucks are built!
The only problems I ever encountered are: diff seals, inner axle seals, CTIS leaks...
Next is parts! Brake lines, troop seats, cover, hard top....I can go on forever. My 923 just needs bows and tarp. The Deuce really needs a 105 trailer though! LOL!
...........Just saw the rides section..oops!
