Kept waiting for you to say "aboot".
Sounds about like mine. Interested to hear what it sounds like cruising. Do you have any of it sitting there but maintaining a higher rpm?
Huh, most folks like Tuff Country's stuff. Croatan and another member on here have run their HD stuff and liked it. It's pretty much the universal favorite over on CK5 and is what ORD sells. Eh, horses for courses I guess.
Might be time to consider rewiring the lights. These things are wired so that the power for the lights goes from the batteries to the switch and then back to the headlights. Lots more distance than is necessary and it's hard on the switches. There's some inexpensive ($30 or so from LMC last I...
3.08 is rather high geared. You loose a lot of the low end grunt in favor of highway cruising ability. GM was searching for the much vaunted high mpg back then and went higher than they probably should have.
Not to mention I think 3.42 is as high as they went with the 14FF rear axle.
I don't...
Before you do a R&P swap consider posting about this on some of your local 4x4 forums. I'd bet you'd have people lining up to buy your complete axles from you and swap their civilian axles in. 3.73, 4.10, 3.55, 3.42, and even higher are out there under civilian trucks.
Calm down there sparky. Before you ASS-U-ME more about me read what I said again.
I can't tell a difference in the cab. Folks have also told me there's nothing objectionable about the sound outside. Believe me if it was horribly loud or sparking complaints I'm not hard to find around this...
Wow, listen to all the hostility.
Like gt1009 and a few others I have dual Maremont Cherry Bombs on my truck. I put them on to replace the stock, crusty mufflers and also because they were $40 or so at AutoZone.
Are they the ultimate setup? Nope. Do they flow better than the stock garbage...
Yep. There's also an open 12v spot in the fuse box. That's where I got my power for the cig lighter. When I rewired my stereo so it got all constant 12v I wired it to the junction block by the gp relay and master cylinder.
I actually used both but I did a bit more than trim on mine. Short metal cutting blade makes quick work of behind the bumpers stuff without having to take the bumpers off.
It's a Dana 60...he had one swapped in. Can't tell from the pictures but most Dana 60 rear axles are FF...so maybe the hub bearings ground up and off it went? Friend had that happen on a 14FF while going down the freeway.
There are some semi float Dana 60's...and the infamous Dana 61...hope...
Isn't that a 10 bolt under your M1009 Blazer? Probably just lost a c-clip. Crappy design + big tires = relatively common occurance unfortunately.
...or did I miss when you had a Dana 60 put in the rear?:?:
I did miss the Dana 60 install!
Time to go bang some heads at that 4x4 shop and...
Damn, makes me glad to have the little shop I use. I end up taking them so much interesting stuff half the time they don't charge me. The whole crew came over to help me when I had them mount up the 11.00R16's.
I haven't bedlinered it or anything yet. Recent election results have made me increase my activities in other hobbies and the vehicles are just being maintained for a while. Don't think anyone's going to ban my trucks and 4x4's for a while.
The 11.00R16's are out there but they aren't as...
