Nice, I'm in the market for that same looking top, (four door pickup) I just can't pull the trigger on Plan B's hard top... self tapper screws and pretty thin aluminum and the angle of the rear wall or window...

First off thanks for your service! I would take the four instrument panel screws out, pull the whole panel out enough to take the complete light fixture out And work on it on the bench. If its completely glued in I'd just replace the whole socket. Eriks Supply has then pretty cheap.

Good luck running only a electric fan. Not going to happen in the real world....
