The light is part of the charging circuit and it needs to be there to work. I think that it is time to start following the troubleshooting procedures for the charging system. The TM is located under the resources tab, TM-92320-289-34, page 2-42.
The light is only on when "Not" charging. Easy to verify though, put a voltmeter across the battery when running and check the voltage. It should be 14-15v. You may have to bump the throttle to get the rpms up.
If I am reading this right, you have 24V going to the starter solenoid when you turn the key? If so and you don't hear anything from the starter you could try hitting the starter with a hammer to jar the solenoid. Sounds like the solenoid isn't working and needs to be replaced. Could be a bad...
Your confusing me, when you turn the key to on all of the lights should be on. The only one that should turn off after a short wait is the "wait" light. The alternator lights should stay on. The alternator should have nothing to do with the wait light. Are you saying that the wait light never...
Well, before you remove the old filter get a catch pan, place it below the fuel filter drain hose. Open the drain, then open the vent. This keeps you from spilling fuel on the ground.
Before cranking the engine unplug the pink wire from the injector pump. Once you close the vent you can plug...
The vac pump was used for the transmission via the "valve" on the injector pump. So, the new transmission uses a TV cable in place of the vacuum. You could leave the pump if you don't have the drive unit mentioned above. I would then put in a breather filter on it so it does not suck in any dirt.
Most cheaper battery chargers take quite a while to charge up marginal batteries, so don't expect it to be charged right away. I suggest that you put the charger on the battery closest to the firewal and use jumper cables on the front battery to your car. Just have the red or + wire go to the +...
I would see if the current motor runs before putting in a 350 diesel. Your 6.2 should be more reliable. Other than the alternator I can't see what is missing. Give it a shot of starting fluid and see if it runs. You can run it for 15 or more seconds without hurting the engine even with the...
Right now the auction is cheap, but it will go up...The auction does not include a compressor, it does not say about the mounts. If you are the type of person that understands AC systems and possibly fabing up compressor mounts and possibly new hoses -the compressor you get may not mount in the...
If there is power on the on the wire that you connect to the starter solenoid - then of course the starter will run. That is how starters work. Are you asking how to convert your truck to a 12V starter? The wire that you attach to the starter solenoid should only have voltage when the key is...
I have the 60 GPH version on my truck. Bolted it to the mounting point that the original bracket was- with some nuts used as spacers to keep the filter off the wires that come out of the firewall there. You probably want the 12V heater and not the 24V so you can tie in to the existing fuel...
