Vinny- thanks for the offer - with my two boys (my wife works this weekend)I'm limited on ability, so we are going to rearange the shop this weekend and ge busy on our M43 to be ready for next time.
My youngest son (10) and I worked on our MV today for the couple of hours that I had before going back to work and we are still nowhere close to being done:cry:. Looks like I'll have to have the original and the spare motor on the ground to be able to remove and swap cams. So it looks like a no...
I'm getting off a couple of hours in the middle of the day today to work on it. My youngest son had his fingers crossed last night when he went to bed (he loves these MVs), but I'm pretty sure it won't be ready in time:oops:. I will have a talk with my two sons about this Murphy fellow and what...
Hey Vinny... hows it been going?
I was out there a few weeks ago and it's definitly wet (lots of standing water) but a camping area should not be a problem. The mosquitos are oppressive and any movement through the woods might result in a few ticks, but repellant works wonders these days...
Bubba and DC3,
Most of my engine compartment is in pieces . I have a couple of hours today an Friday to put into it, so hopefully I can get it done in time. I really appreciate the offers for help.
I am in a mad dash to try and get my MV fixed and back together in time:-(. Work schedule does not leave much time before this weekend. I'd cross my fingers but it makes getting the valves and lifters out harder.
Do you have a mechanical or electric fuel pump? If mechanical then I would think that could be your problem because a weak pump could compensate w/ higher rpm but not an electric model. Just a thought.
Hey Branan,
I had it licked ( bent vavle) but when I put it back together The fuel pump arm slipped under the cam lobe and when I hit the starter..... the cam broke.... and no I'm not kidding. Probably could not do it again on a bet. Looks like I've got too much repair time ahead to get it done...
Richloam
This is gonna kill me!! Just found out and won't be able to get my M43 fixed in time as I had some repair work to do from last weekend at Richloam. If you have not been there in the last couple of months be prepared for a lot of deeeep water in some areas, but it does make clean up...
M43
Not driven everyday, but definitely a couple times a week :!: Stock except for the 40 inch tires, welded rear end, and the home fabricated front bumper. Have driven him on many 60 and 70 mile trips I can definitely state the power steering would be real nice and at over 7100 lbs disk brakes...
Hey Trevor... remember I'm close by, so let me know when your going and I'll make it if I can. I've been going out to Rancho and am trying to make plans to go to Richloam very soon. With our trucks being set up about the same we should be able to help each other out of sticky...
locker
My rear end has a homemade locker by Clarke. You may also want to check out powerwagonlocker.com. They are a bit pricey but air operated so you can lock and unlock at the push of a button.
selling?
What issues are you having that would cause that thought process... other than dreams of a plasma T.V.? I heard about the charging issues but there must be more that I have not read about:cry:. The rock crawl was cool, but the trails were made for and by jeeps. I did put the M43 into a...
