    10' Cabover camper on a M1078

How long is your camper's cabover section? According to the internet, the M1078 bed is 12' 9" long. You could potentially get away with mounting the camper a bit astern of the end of the bed to gain the clearance at the cab.

    Another 1088 Overland Build

14'6" is huge!! I'm just over 12' right now with an unloaded/unfinished habitat, might sag an inch or two once finished and with supplies on board, but will also add another 1.5" with PV's on the roof. AC will likely be courtesy of mini-split, haven't really committed to it yet though...

    Dry Flush Toilet (Laveo)

Seems like one more possible point of failure. I am leaning toward the composting option specifically because of simplicity.

    M1088 camper conversion

Also, stumbled across this today from a FB group: https://www.vanlifeuksurvivorsguide.co.uk/post/a-step-by-step-guide-to-an-awesome-powerful-fully-off-grid-12v-set-up Have not been through it yet but curious if anyone has and would care to validate its recommendations.

    M1088 camper conversion

Except I don't think I ever explicitly said what I used. Hey Nate, Mine might not match up too well for the weight of your rig, but these are what I used: Front - 974 #/in Middle - 653 #/in Aft - 584 #/in Tried to stagger them as well as possible given what was available. Would have...

    M1088 camper conversion

Life has been keeping me occupied lately, but some progress has been made with framing things in. The windows and door are now mostly framed in. I've been framing things in triangularly as much as possible instead of the classic right angles to get the structural integrity from the tubing and...

    LMTV help with hood-cab release

Or I've heard you can unbolt the catch from the cab as well. Might not help with building pressure in the lift cylinder though.

    M1088 camper conversion

Sometimes I feel compelled to have models of my vehicles. In searching for the M1088, I only found a M1083 and it was in 1/35 scale and $85. A little too small and a little too rich for me. What to do... Poking around the internet, I saw a cheap RC 6x6 which seemed to have the correct...

    M1088 camper conversion

Exactly! I think you're picking up what I'm puttin' down.

    M1088 camper conversion

Not very concerned, truth be told. I think the mic was a little sensitive as there wasn't any background noise, and in any case, I'm over it already. The step does exactly as it needs to and the wife is happy(!) with it. Task has been crossed off the list and have moved on to other items. I...

Fire and forget, auto stop in both extend and retract.

    M1088 camper conversion

And now it's powered! It's a little slower than I would have chosen but it will probably only be used once we've set up camp and not every time the door is opened. It's also a bit loud, but I do suspect it will be a little quieter once it's painted, paneled, and insulated.

I think my air compressor is cycling to much.

Thx Ronmar. I figured it was usage dependent but your first and last paragraphs were the most helpful to me.

I think my air compressor is cycling to much.

As an aside, what is the frequency/duration at which the compressor should cycle/dryer should purge?

    M1088 camper conversion

Was away for ~10 days exploring the southern UT desert with our little rig but have made some decent progress since returning. I am especially happy with this: Presently it is just gravity powered but I have other supplies arriving shortly which will remedy that. The wifey is particularly...

    CTIS trouble shooting

Thanks Ronmar. I was trying to correlate the tire psi to the transducer psi and wasn't sure how to match them up. This is on my list of things to do....

    CTIS trouble shooting

Video has link to sources but doesn't specify which pressure rating. Is there a 75 psi one or which specific transducer do we need? Got an actual part number/supplier?

    Keith's M1078A1 Project Overland

110v? 12v? Hydronic? Will the tank be insulated? I am nearing the same step in my build and am not above blatantly stealing your ideas, if you don't mind.
