identifing gensets Ok have seen people see the tag on there generator. And find out that something isntcorrect. Reason I'm asking is I'm about to order a throttle cable for my mep-016b onan gen. The tag on the caseing says it is indeed a 016b. Any reasonit could be wrong?

Ok coal cracker I was the manager of a salvage yard. There is a site u can go on for all the yards on the holander system but that's not for military specially yards. The holander system alows u to search the yards inventory and condition.

2 MEP - O16B's one is running like a champ. Other im getting there. 2nd need a throttle cable, and starter works but is on its way out. Than i will figure out if there is anything else wrong.

Ok the truck 6.2 and the blazer 6.2 both use the ac glow plug. And its much better of a glow plug than the local parts house ones. The ac plug can handle more of a beating than parts house ones. Ive used theses on the truck at the firehouse and my personal Blazer. They take a beating. Good luck...

O the throttle end should i be able to move that by hand? And if I cant than what dies that indicate?

Ok spent about 30 minutes draining the fuel tank and putting a fuel filter in. And I'm glad i did. The fuel that should be green was brown and had some dirt in it. So new fuel is in it. and filter. But still need a throttle cable. Went to Napa and they only have 9 foot ones. O well ill find one...

MEP 016B Generator wont stay running Ok just as the title says, haveing trouble getting the generator to run the way it should. The throttle cable broke (bad thing to start with). Is there a primer on these generators? Our other one that we have in the firehouse runs every time after u use the...

ok 1989 MEP-016B diesel genset that help all u need?

o just got a 24v starter on ebay, so that is another reason not to take the time to make it 12v. But its always something to keep on the back burner.

anyone know a way take take the generator to 12v set-up? And what parts that are needed? really dont think i want to do it. But need to look into other options. First need to figure out the wireing on the gen to see if i can make it run 240v.

what battery are u useing for generator As title says what are u useing for your 24v generators? 2 12v volts in series or 1 24v battery? And if so where did u get it.
