Well that's what I did with mine, haha. It was bent differently and I used my Ramcharger instead because I didn't have the room in my yard to set up the Deuce to do it :D
I recently took over a ton of scrap metal to the recycling yard. That wasn't fun unloading by hand either, but it was the easiest $200+ I've made in a while!
Put it on the ground so it's facing up.
Make sure it's in line with the frame of your truck.
Place the jack on the correct end and commence straightening.
Or...
Line up some two 4x4's parallel with the trucks frame.
Lay the flat side of the bumper that's bent on the wood, dent in the...
Like WM said, if it was raised up a little and moved forward so the overhang was over the cab, it'd look awesome. Then, the extra frame you had left in the rear could be used for a cargo deck... 4-wheeler, bike, etc.
I can pick up the Ford IDI 7.3's around here for $400 or less. A Cummins is going to run me $1500+. I'd like to keep the stock Deuce trans though. I haven't put much thought in to this plan though since I don't need ANOTHER project going on. However, when I come back from Iraq, I'll have...
That was the same thought I was having. I'm sure you could find a good sized camper, make a frame for the bottom with some wheels on it. Make sure the door/s clear the bed sides and strap it in really good.
If mine was only leaking a little, I wouldn't mind. It literally comes out in a steady stream on the ground up until about 20mph. That's how much is coming out right now. I'm going to check in to this "carrier housing seal" though. I can't find anything that resembles it on ODIron.
Mine is definitely coming from the bell housing hole. I crawled under the truck to verify. I'll be checking the breather today. I'm already making plans to pull the trans though.
I'm hoping I can skip one of the trans drops and the rod out of the block, lol. On a good note, when I do drop the trans again, it'll much easier this time. The first time was rough, I won't make those mistakes again. I had the trans loose fitted about 3 times before I was ready to finally...
I'm sure it's engine oil, it's black and doesn't smell like gear oil. The transmission has 4 quarts in it, I filled it up per some recommendations here, about a knuckle below the fill plug. It's streaming out all the time, not only after shutdown. I used some steel putty to smooth up the...
I replaced the rear main seal on my truck a while back. I finally got the truck running again and it's puking oil all over the place. I let it idle for about 5 minutes or so on the initial start up (2 days ago) and it was fine. It dripped a small puddle after I shut it down. Then today, I...
