It was processed through Memphis, I'm sure of it. It has tags on the dashboard saying something about the REB Powershift being a Memphis Equipment exclusive product, so that 's where it came from.
Brought my new baby home on Sunday, and was surprised. I figured that since it was dualled up in the back that it was an xM211, but the data plate reads M135. Anyone wanna offer some insight?
The old 302 jimmy's are fed by either an electric fuel pump, or are pressure fed via air. There is no mechanical fuel pump. I'll be sure to put a regulator on it tonight. On mine, one of the PO's converted it to 12 volt already (I think), so all I had to do was run a wire from the battery to...
So I installed a new fuel pump (electric) hooked up to a boat tank, pushing between 5 and 9 psi. Ran for a bit, then stalled out. Couldn't figure out what the problem was, so I figured this was a good time to change the oil anyhow. Much to my surprise, after pulling the filter, it reeked of...
Thanks for the info. Got the brakes 'feeling' like they're working, but we'll see just what happens once I get the belts on.
Another thing, what's the "REB" Powershift? I got to looking at the data plates by the steering column, and those looked a lot newer than the rest of them, then noticed...
Great job! I just got mine home myself this morning around 4. No belts on the engine, so I had to just let it roll off the trailer into a tree. Took a couple batteries and an electric fuel pump, and after a few minutes of cranking, it fired up. Ran REAL rough, so I shut it down, and started...
I assume that it's got the original gasser engine and automatic transmission in it. That being the case, the front axle is disengaged in reverse. It's in the design of the drivetrain.
I've heard of a couple guys over in the g503 forum that have used 5 ton turbos on the 2 1/2 ton engines, but the head gasket becomes the weak link. I was thinking of maybe contacting fel-pro to get a a sheet of their heavy duty gasket material, then cutting all the necessary holes in it to help...
RE: Deadheading
South side of Detroit, Dearborn Heights, to be precise. I'm already paying the guy, so deadheading isn't really a problem, I just figured I check and see if anyone needed anything hauled up there.
We're going to be leaving St. Louis one of the first couple weekends of December to go to Detroit and wondered if anyone needed any light (<14k) hauled up to that area. Holler at me if you do.
Hey guys and gals, First post, so here goes.
Taking delivery of my very first MV, a 52 GMC XM211 I believe, cuz the guy said it used to have a dump bed. The fuel tank is supposedly full of gunk, so I was going to add a fuel cell and a holley electric fuel pump, as well as some other 12 volt...
