    TH400 Transmission skips 2nd gear

Had my M1009 about 3 weeks now and have done a lot of work on it. My problem now is the transmission shifting. With the transmission in Drive, it will shift from 1 to 3rd around 20-25 mph. It skips 2nd gear. If I shift it manually 2nd gear works fine. Also if I am in 3rd and pull it down...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Replaced all 8 glow plugs (Wellman), all 8 were open, no continuity. Thank God none of them were swollen, all came out easily. Installed 8 AC 60G glow plugs and installed the new slip on connectors on the wires to fit them. Will test if they work when it is 40 degrees in the morning. ;-)

    M1009 Speedometer Calibration

According to the transmission shop, with the standard drive gear having 15 teeth and the driven gear with the smallest tooth count is 34. So unless you change the drive gear, which is a major PITA, if you are using the standard size tires, there is not a gear combo that will work without the...

    M1009 Speedometer Calibration

Just got my M1009 a week ago and the speedo was not working. The driven gear in the transfer case was broken. It was a 41 tooth gear so I replaced it with a 41 tooth. Wrong. I am running stock 31x10.5x15 tires and this gear was causing the speedo to indicate 50 mph when I was actually...
