You can adapt your old bracket with a file so that the square cable end fits in the old round hole. Just hand file it or use a dremel. It can be done just give it a look.
The wires coming from the shifter connect to the three wires you disconnected from the old shifter. Neutral saftie switch and such. I only had one connector coming off my 700r4 which I hooked to a 12v source from the gen for the lockup.
Knew there was something wrong with your pic LOL, the cross member bolts to the xfer case not the trans. All will be well when you mount the xfer case.
Cheers
Yes I did 6.5 to 700r4 to 218, just get a 700r4 k case built up and a kit from advance adapters, give them a call for the right adapter. You will need a diesel flex plate and tq converter from trans shop. Don't need a special cable bracket just mod the one the 400 uses to fit new cable. The dust...
Best bet call advance adapters and they can explain all. I only had the short shaft, plate 4 bolts and o ring when I put mine together. The adapter plate can be mounted to the 700r4 two ways but only fits up to the 218 one way. With this set up no driveshaft mods are required. Hope that helps a...

Oil and lube,Installed radio tray, was going to put cup holders in but can't find what I want. Installed rear cover for winter maybe. I had removed the first day I got it. Windshields are next.
Is there a difference between a 6.2 and a 6.5 engine wire harness? Mine was OH'd and has a 6.5 in it. My question is because thought I would change the engine harness because my controller connector is corroded a bit. Pn 12339350 vs 12446828. The IPC doesn't help so was the wire harness changed...
I've been trying to get my 700r4 swap done for months and finally showing progress. Hopefully one more long weekend with out any oops and will be done and back on the road.
My question is which works better remove the trans and xfer case as one or split them? Seems to be alot of weight to balance on a trans jack if not splitting them. My concern is since I have to remove the trans mount with the xfer case if I split them the strain on the engine mounts when I pull...
