Just a brief update. I got the genny in the container and mounted down with 4 one inch thick, 4X4 isolation pads. I also got the exhaust run out of the side of the container and through another muffler. I increased the diameter of the exhaust pipe to 1 1/2" right out of the top of the genny. Its...
Ok so lets go one step farther. I want to run my genny on an external fuel tank. Can I disconnect this plug and then bypass the internal fuel tank all together and plum the fuel pump direct from the external tank?
I just got my 802 installed in the shipping container. When I start it, it will run between 5 and 15 min. then it shuts down and the low fuel light comes on. Its full of fuel. Any ideas why this would be happening?
I will be posting pics of this setup after I work out all the bugs.
I was just thinking a fuel filter would drain itself. The petcock idea would work great, I would just have to remember to drain it.

I will run the pipe at about a 45* angle from the exhaust outlet on top of the generator for 6-7 feet to the upper side of the container. Then straight out the side and then 45* down for 2-3 inches.

Well I got the shipping container placed and the generator inside. I still need to do all the plumbing. A smart man I know mentioned a possible problem. When I run the exhaust out the side of the container, what should I do about condensation in the exhaust line?
Chainbreaker, thanks for the links. The problem is that I have this place to get DISconnected. My smart phone only gets one bar of service. I will probably leave a door open during the day if I need to run the granny. At night, I'll close the container up. I really don't think heat is going to...
Good idea but I'm not sure how I would do it. I should have included that the temps where the genny is will be no higher than about 90* and the shipping container will be located under a heavy tree canopy so no direct sunlight.
I had planned on acoustic insulation. Good thinking on the 90* turns. I could build a baffle from the fan to the genny and use the same insulation on the inside of it.
Howdy folks!! I recently became the proud owner of a MEP-802A. I started a thread about how to wire it into an RV. (https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?177209-Wiring-a-50-amp-120v-rv-service) Well my issue's at this point is keeping my wife (and neighbors) happy and theft resistance. I...
Thanks to all who have assisted me in this project. The genny will be delivered some time next week. It will then take me a couple of weeks to do the installation. I promise that I will come back with an update at that time. Again, Thanks everyone!! RD
