I did the grenade thing in my contact truck but put it on its side more comfortable that way . oh don't waste a wwII grenade like I did before I knew what it was lol oh well its na expensive knob job now
just a thought if oil sending units are correct try what I did on my 63 truck I switched to rottella 15/40 oil pressure is better and stays higher while running
just for info adirondock dodge and vintage power wagon both sell 24 volt wiper set ups got them fo rmine three years back not very expensive and easy install

there are two separate connectors fop rhead lights in the orig wire harness on my 37 there was a bad connector under the wire harness cover under the front fender I found the second connector points so to confirm check those you should have one in the head light...
not sure about that number you gave but I have a 63 contact truck restored and from what ive learned there were only 1400 ever built on the 37 chassis from start to finish and only two registered in the us mine and one in texas at this time
use the aluminum paint the metal fills in the minute holes been doin g it fo ryears second what caused th egasket to fail ive just had to replace three jeep motors fo rthe same problem all had cracks between cylinders after doing the cleaning and sanding before reassembly so...
just as a hint I had similar problem with my 37 turned out to be cracks in distributor cap had used after market one and when screwed plug wires down to specks they cracked the cap had to find nos cap and ran great ever after foxtrk 2
