    rear brakes dragging

Some possibilities..... does your pedal feel firmer after you have gone around the block ? Less pedal travel to accuTe the brakes when "hot"? could be air in the line and as it heats and expands the air pushes the fluid both directions making the pedal feel excessively firm and slightly...

    What's unplugged in this picture?

Well, if the truck is in the south, such as Louisiana, it might start with the GPC unplugged if it is a warm day. I would rather have a truck that runs with stuff unplugged than a truck that won't run but everything is plugged in proper. Look at the gauge picture on GP and see if the photo...

    What's unplugged in this picture?

The GPC screws into the water crossover pipe. Sort of looks like a big spark plug. Lube it well days before you remove it or it can break off. Your GPC in not plugged in. The wire dangling under the truck might be a cable the runs to alternator.

Your rear fenders should have a slightly different assembly configuration and rivet pattern than the mass produced truck.

I could be wrong on this, but I believe there were three phases of prototypes followed by early production trucks under the 2334 truck contract and then mass production trucks for the 50,000 truck contract. All were progressively different. The first prototype had 5 competitors and looked like...

Ok, so that means your truck was made in late 1984 and is M1037 000016, if the #16 is correct, and it certainly could be. That would make it the oldest known (to me) production truck, and a pre mass production truck. Your truck was made in Lavonia, Mi. before the plant moved to Indiana with the...

I used to think those cutouts were planned as drains but I think they might have something to do with removing the rear shocks.

Wow that is rare and cool. I have been researching them. Does your truck have fairly standardized features such as dash and hood ? Would that be a Phase III Testing and Evaluation truck ? Or would it be newer than that as I believe the Phase III testing took place in 1983 ?

Sorry...an attempt at humor. I guess you mean the base and the sign ? Yes that would be cool. My 1983 Govplanet Hummervee is older by a couple years and has very similar camo job pattern outlined in grease pencil. Not yet standardized I guess. I wonder if the person who penciled the original...
