Good score! I just got a truck from The Mass National Guard. M923a1 and it too came out of delaware. My truck is in excellent shape aside from a blown motor. Good luck with the recovery!
Yeah I expected the worst and I got it haha. I decided on a straight swap. No fancy stuff. Just another 250. The plus side is theres a tag on the trans that says it was refurbished in 2006.
So a bit of an update. I pulled an inspection cover on the passenger side of the motor. The #3 liner is completely destroyed. I can see right through the water passage and into the cylinder bore. The con rod appears to be intact however the piston and sleeve are destroyed. There is also a crack...
That is a beautiful truck! Nice work so far. Its looking really good! I have a dumb question and i apologize in advance. How are folks like you driving these home? Are you getting temp tags or dealer tags or just hoping for the best?
Quick question for the Mod of this forum. Is it the norm to merge all of the threads started into a single thread? Or is it just done to clean things up after answers have been posted? Just curious.
Saw that. Wasn't sure if he is charging a fee or requiring a donation. If he is only requiring a 25$ donation than nothing has changed. The way I perceived the post was that there will be a 25$ fee payable to him.

~Justin

How do I figure out the year of manufacture on my M923A1? "I searched"
I have been searching for 2 days now. I got the truck from GL and there is no year designation anywhere on the truck or in the paperwork. I saw that a guy here was decoding the serial numbers but he doesnt seem to be doing...
My new M923A1!
Got here today. No problems unloading. We ended up using air from the tractor to air up the truck. Backed her right off without a hitch! Thanks for all the advice guys. So far I have found the motor is in fact blown. Water in the oil and a thrown rod = a cracked block. So ill be...
I do have shop air. I just want to be sure that I have enough to get it off the trailer safely. I guess one shot should be good to start. If it runs too low it will just lock the spring brakes anyhow. I looked at the GL pics to see if they were caged but it doesnt look like it.
