The only good land rover was the very first ones where they were on Willys frames and powered also by willys, the rest are over rated girl trucks at best. all true. Better than an fj and suzuki is not much. even if it were true.

I think using a paint roller with the standard paint keeps it original and is pretty strong too, I used rustoleum primer with a roller in the bed let dry for 3 days, man that stuff is hard and then the correct paint, Its just me but I need it to look like it did in service.

I have the same situation, I dont call it a problem because like U I am good with being the one who initiates the front wheel drive, I am happy just the way it is and dont need to make it more off i guess U are saying.
