Love you guys, you need to study the map of the world a bit more ! The ship would be going the other way round the world if it had to go through the straits of Hormuz, at least you could have it landed on your West Coast then !
I have found the easiest way is to put the chains in a cement mixer with a bag of sand for a couple of hours, they come out like brand new without any localided damage which blast or acid cleaner may create.
M747 Ramps
The ramps are aluminium, and can just about be lifted by 1 reasonably strong man. It's a lot easier with Two though. Shifting the ramps sideways is definately a 2 man job.
