the air governor on mine it located on the tank to the rear of the trailer, connected to the same block the pressure gauge is in; that's what unloads the compressor and is supposed to cause the engine to slow to idle as well. If your unit ran up to 200 PSI, you'll probably need to disassemble...
Yeah, I know what you mean. I loved hearing mine roar to life when I first tried it. I would've thought yours had the spin-on filter, mine must have been converted over sometime then, as I've got a spin-on filter. Does your engine have a clutch like the manual says it should? My compressor...
Great video. As far as the oil filter goes, you should be able to use any spin-on filter you want to as long as the engine has the standard 3/4" fine thread stud. Just get one with the same seal o-ring diameter. 5 to 10 micron should be plenty for filtration.
After I get mine running a...
Here are some pictures you requested phil2968, As you can see, the bracket for the air cylinder mounts under the screw that holds the fuel bowl in place. There is a piece of metal "wrapped" around the control rod, then connected to the cylinder via a cotter pin. When the air tank is at the...
Thanks for the info, You are correct, that is what the cylinder does to control the speed, it basically pushes the governor arm to the idle position until the air pilot valve calls for more pressure. I know that there is some issues with the pressure exerted by the cylinder, as it does not...
I think the whole point of a dry battery is for extended storage. It doesn't start to deteriorate the lead plates until the acid is added. Keep it dry and clean (no dirt inside) and it should be fine pretty much indefinitely.
Those are some nice looking sets, almost too pretty to bother running them....I'll tell ya what I'm gonna do:-D. I'll come pick em up, at no cost to you of course, and take em off your hands since you obviously don't want to get them dirty. I promise to give them a good home and I'll try to...
Try going to the parts store or Tractor Supply and get a few (at least 5, maybe 10) gallons of parts washer. Dump that in the tank and find an easy way to shake it up, maybe throw it in the bed of a pick-up and drive around running errands or something. If you've got the time, do that for...
I was doing some checking on my air compressor in my trailer today. I posted a thread about adjusting the governor on the 4a032 engine so I can get this thing running like it's supposed to be. I know the engine is rated and governed to run at 3600 RPM, but that seemed awfully fast to me. I...
yes, they are designed to run at 3600, but with the pulley diameters on the motor and air compressor, I think 3600 would be turning the compressor too fast.
Post the information in the VIN info thread started by "Carnac" When he's done with his move and get's back down to business he'll give you all kinds of cool information about the truck. You'll need your registration number, serial number and those bumper numbers.
Edit; Did you get your...
Hey all,
First off, I did a search but couldn't turn up anything specific to my issue. As some of you may know, I recently acquired an ENG-3 Lubricating and Servicing Trailer. I've been playing with the 4a032 that runs the air compressor in the trailer. After cleaning the control linkage and...
