Well that's not very MV like. I drove mine from Atlanta to El Paso in August then the following may from El Paso to Aberdeen Show then had someone take it to Atlanta for me (I'd driven that route back and forth about 30 times in the deuce) and then in September another trip from Atlanta to El...
Oh and you can always come up with what unit and you might have someone on here that can give you rear numbers. I gave someone the numbers for my HMMWV from Desert Storm and they painted them on. I had a deuce from my old unit and carried those numbers because DRMO didn't paint them over.
Suggest working this from the top down.
What time period are you portraying?
Are you going to portray Army, Air Force?
What type of unit?
What unit?
If the supply truck for an infantry or armor company, most of these would be the company letter then a 4. A4, B4, C4

I have family living about 35 miles away. They've picked up several loads for me from there. Last one was a generator trailer (I bought them a pintle and light). He is open to consider picking up for folks if it is a light trailer or a pallet or two. His truck has a cap on it so that would...
Before you do anything, verify the data plate serial number (VIN) matches the one printed on the frame. It is probably painted over and will take some effort to find. I know on the non-reo deuces it was on the drivers side just above (or slightly behind) the front axle on the outside of the...
Howdy. Texas, BIG state, so that nobody knows where you're hiding....well....except for the IRS, BATF, FBI, DEA, and about a thousand other federal and state agencies....everyone but us.
HQ is headquarters. It's the opposite side of the bumper that tells the unit.
DCGS-A = Distributed Common Ground System - Army
Not sure why DCGS-A would have a CUCV nor such a high admin number. It doesn't necessarily mean there were 244 (or more) vehicles in the unit. That admin number...
That's true. Over 60 days ago we just had a machine break at work and the part was out of stock and couldn't be found as the mfg doesn't make it anymore. I said take the broken part over to a shop that has a former Seebee chief working there...that was the day I found out about the...
serial number equates to the VIN.
The registration number is what some folks call a hood number. There isn't really a direct civilian equivalent except maybe the administrative number on your title.
38th MSB is Main Support Battalion. Unit was reflagged a couple years ago as the 38th Sustainment Brigade.

Recommend a google search to see if what you're thinking is correct. Most units have a downtrace list for their national...
The 4 is the bridge weight classification. Here's a link. This has been posted on SS previously. It is borrowed from the M715 Zone website.

I have a pallet of 12 small hardigg cases in the Ashville NC area. Need to see if someone can pick it up and move it to one of the following:
West toward Texas....somewhere
or to
Lexington, VA
or to
Winchester, VA
I only won one of three pallets I was bidding on so I can't see making a...
Absolutely wonderful job on this M1009. I think you need some good bumper numbers to go with it and a radio set up.
