Cool! My radio was shipped today, and is supposed to arrive within a week. I will post details once I receive and mount it.
Looking forward to this year's rally and have been plugging it locally.

Anyone coming to the Rally this year have a VHF setup? I just bought a Clansman PRC-352 setup and am interested in practicing my radio skills. It's been 20 years since I used VHF in service.
We'll stick above 50MHz in the open Ham sector. And yes, one of us has a technician license.

Scammers have technology to pump their phone call through the internet and arrive via a local open number, making caller ID think it's a local call. The FCC is cracking down on it after China started calling every man woman and child in the U.S. to try to get our CC numbers. If those callers...
Any clue on the correct designation for the LED version of these? I have tried searching, but those two numbers do not seem to have LED equivalents listed.

Sales are also varied in terms of timing. I suppose this is in part due to the limited market and limited number of ways to reach potential customers. I only offer soft slant back kits here, mostly because eBay is all else I can think of and their policies are not pro-seller, if you take my...
Is that a starter motor and solenoid, underneath the intake, impossible to repair or replace without removing the entire intake assembly?
I suppose if it's a race engine or something, expected to be torn down frequently by well-equipped professionals, one might forgive this. If it's a duty...
I plan to test the kickdown switch wire circuit for voltage next, yes. My truck is a M998A0, so the fan will not kick off with WOT signal.
I'll get to it next weekend, too much to do this week.
She drives, she's just a little more sluggish than a normal A0.

Drained the transmission and dropped the pan. Replaced the filter and replaced the kickdown solenoid.
Seemed to drive a little better during the shakedown ride but no kickdown near as I can tell. Troubleshooting continues. I know the switch on the throttle linkage is good. Will trace the wires...
Where there's a will there's a way. If you happen to end up with a 4 man canvas soft top rig, I make and sell soft slant backs of my own design. So, if opportunity gives you a gen-1 soft top, you can still have a slant back.

My mistake in terms. I bought the solenoid. My switch tested good last time I checked it. Process of elimination caused me to suspect the solenoid.
Am I correct in remembering the solenoid is accessed by dropping the pan?

Maybe resurrecting this thread will cause some new information to come available. I purchased the kickdown switch [correction Solenoid] from Hummerpartsurplus and am expecting it Monday. I intend to replace it Friday when I've taken the day off (5th).
I've been putting it off. The switch...
I cleaned and refinished one of those w few years ago, purchased at an Estate Sale after the death of a neighbor. I gave it as a present to my best friend's wife who is a quilting enthusiast. It counts among her most prized possessions now.
I'm going to look at a Pfaff 245 this weekend. It...
Hmmm. My own HMMWV needs prodding to move, though it sounds a nit better than yours. We may have the same problem, though it sounds like yours is worse than mine. I attribute my lack of get up and go to my HMMWV coming from the MD National Guard who do not seem to have given her the best...
I'll throw out another potentially silly question: did you happen to replace the rear brake pads, and NOT readjust the free play in the parking brake assembly (leaving the rear brakes partially engaged)? Happened to me.

Sue raises an interesting point. Have you used Lock often and if so did you perform the 50’ reversing maneuver to relieve drivetrain tension? Seems like a simple thing, but it makes a difference.
