    Brake issue…what would you do?

Ah, that! Originally, the MC cap was vented via this line to the air filter housing. That caused issues and was to be disconnected and replaced with the axle vent. That also causes issues because it only allows flow in one direction, providing it doesn't stick, allowing no air flow. The best...

    Steelsoldiers’ BIG M756A2 Project!

I like the look of the radials as duals. Looks massive and very capable.

    Steelsoldiers’ BIG M756A2 Project!

@steelsoldiers "Enlightened" motor pools quite evidently did several things to their M35 to make them perform even better, including singling them out and installing radial tires. I say this, based on the configuration of trucks surplussed out when they appeared on government auction sites. As...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I love the MTVR for their visual deception. They are similarly proportioned to the Deuce, just....so much bigger! It is hard to judge with just a pic of an MTVR, but the pic above is great! The Deuce on the trailer looks like the grown up truck bringing a little ATV runabout along...

    65 Kaiser M35A2 project starts

@gringeltaube has produced a nice set of drawings that explains the different types of beads and the matching shape of rims and why mis-matching them is problematic. The tire receives mechanical pressure from the edge of the rim in an area of the tire that is not designed for it, and...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I "think" the gauge reads full when it is shorted to ground. You can measure the output of the sending unit; there is a nice step by step to follow in the troubleshooting TM. Refer to TM 9-2320-209-10 TM 9-2320-209-20-2-1 , Chapter 25 Electrical Troubleshooting, Symptom 28 "Fuel System Gauge...

    Can’t get this to start…FIXED!!!

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS !!!!! I knew you' d crack this one! Very happy for you @DaneGer21 ! Well, you know you have your fuel system set up 100% and you have a spare HH. Overall, not a bad outcome at all.

    Can’t get this to start…FIXED!!!

I would say it is great that you located a shop so close by that a) knows how to rebuild one of these and b) is willing to rebuild one of these. $750 to go through it, while a lot of cash, is really not overpriced for the job. Sure, if they need spare parts, that is extra (but you would have to...

    STAL II 876

And here we are, worrying about our axle seals in the Deuce letting water in! Driving a Stalwart into the water must be exciting and scary as hell at the same time! It looks like a lot of fun. How much can it carry when swimming? Probably still a couple of tons?

What did you do to your deuce this week?

If that was my fleet, I would have to add "and the inflatable tent I'm living in since my wife kicked me out" Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

    65 Kaiser M35A2 project starts

The line between comprehensive rust repair and spending oodles of time and effort to fix something to almost 80% is blurry. I think you are making the right call with a replacement cab. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

    STAL II 876

@m715mike what is involved in making a Stalwart swim-worthy? Their cargo bed doesn't flood, correct?

    STAL II 876

I recall several Stalwarts in service with the Austrian Armed Forces in the early 1970' and they were retired after a series of swimming incidents, one if them fatal. Not sure if the lack of swimming willingness affected a specific series only or whether that is a risk with all of them. I think...

67 With an 87 Multifuel - Got Some Questions

    1) and 2) are part of your flame heater cold start system that seems to have been partially decommissioned. It should be completely removed (search for flame heater removal) or gone through and refurbished. The main issue with it when leaky is that it leaks diesel fuel into your crankcase...

    Pneumatic wiper motor rebuild/replace

I rebuilt a few plastic ones that are basically a garbage throw-away design. Yours seems to be the metal variant (much better). I am not aware of "rebuild kits" for these wiper motors. This seems to leave it to your ingenuity to make and attach a new shaft and lever. Maybe someone has a couple...

@Gunfreak25 It was not until last summer that I took the softtop off my truck and I agree! A 13,000 lbs convertible is stupid fun. The only thing that keeps me from running topless more often is how hard the clamp rail is on the softtop when mounting and dismounting.

Continental Multifuel LDT465 1D Running Hot

I have no experience running 395/85 R20 . It appears to me that their overall diameter is not that much more, compared to 11.00R20 and therefore the increase in top speed ("overdrive by tire") is comparable. The 395s are, however, much more mass to rotate and the width may also cause higher...
