Axle Vents: Clean? Replace? Relocate? OTHER Vents?

It's not a hard crimp. just enough to hold the cap on. Take an old one apart and you'll see how easy it it. Re crimp just enough to keep it from comming off, in all four sides.

Axle Vents: Clean? Replace? Relocate? OTHER Vents?

Take one apart. There is more than spring in there. A little rubber disc is held on it's seat by the spring, if it sticks to its seat, the gearbox being vented will not releive it's pressure and the seal will leak until the pressure is gone. They're easy to disassemble and , usually, can be...

    Gamma Goat Serial Numbers

John, Go with the SF-97. I took mine down to bear metal and found nothing but a few part numbers. Luck was I had the data plates intact so I stamped the numbers in several places in case one of our "Citizens" borrowed it. Some vehicles had the number stamped in the front on the drivers side but...

    Hard VS Soft tops

Youre sitting next to the screamin' 353, transmission and transfer case on a Goat. The hard top kind a holds all that noise inside with you. REAL LOUD. One of the first things I did when I started building the Goat was to remove and discard the hardtop. Besides, it's nearly impossible to get in...

    OD Heavy meeting Old Heavy

It shouldn't be long. It's all over the floor right now. It's really in beautiful condition in side. Rolls like it's on ball bearings. I don't know how much my air compressor will make it move but am making a blank flange to hook it up... Thanks again for the help.

    OD Heavy meeting Old Heavy

Put the M-816 to work today. Picked up a Troy Steam engine. It's an 11 inch bore and a 10 inch stroke. Weighs around 6000 lbs. My friend, 70deuce, brought his deuce and we loaded it up. The wrecker didn't know it had a load and the deuce hardly setteled in the suspension. The last picture shows...

Will, What did you finally do with the Hydro-vac. Was it bad? I never had a clutch problem once I got the D@#%% thing bled. Same for the accelerator.

    Doghead Gets a Goat!!

Great looking Goat. As Mike's "U-tube" clip shows it is hard to beat the Goat off road, even going backwords. Not real fun to work on, a challange.. Congrats.
