A1 trucks require 12 and 24 volts to start and operate. A lot of the relays operate on 12 volt. Slaving up 24 volts will not give you the 12 volts you need if your batteries are totally bad.

If fluid is pushing out of the breather on the air hyd box then it needs to be rebuilt. If it’s coming out if the cab latch too that is also rebuildable.
I find the tractor valve on the back frame rail is a common problem. You get a crack in one of the diaphragms and air escapes from the valves vent when braking. And the 3 valves under the drivers foot well area can cause air leak when braking. Same issue they get cracked diaphragms.
