What did you do to your deuce this week?

Symmetry and the beauty of over-engineered luxury are also valid reasons to attach things more securely than just the breaking strength of a bolt! (says the guy with the trailer hitch made from half inch armoured steel)

Converting back to soft top– questions.

I'd call the vendors and ask. Mike's, Erik's, member Country, etc. Chances are, one of them will have exactly what you need. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

    Air pack rebuild kits

Worth it? For sure. It is a nice afternoon project. I have only rebuilt one air pack, step by step, and it was not difficult. At least I know it is done right. With the "new" ones these days you don't know what kind of shelf Queen you get for 500 bucks, that sat somewhere since 1995, with the...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

@Merc1973 I switched to the taller tires and I would not go back. The key are the rims, IMHO. If you can snag a set of two-piece rims, it makes mounting/unmounting of the tires so much easier than with the stock split ring rims. In a pinch, you can even swap a tire on the truck, without...

    M35A2 J pipe

For that price and subsequent hassle, it seems that starting at a muffler shop to check whether they can bend one might be a worthwhile alternative. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

DodgeTX New 1962 Studebaker M35a2 Multifuel repair and build thread

@DodgeTX How do you deal with the relatively low weight of the Deuce when you are winching other trucks of almost equal weight (such as the Ryder box truck in your pic) ? I find that staying on solid ground helps where I can chock the front wheels. But, generally, on unpaved ground the winch...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Noticed slop and a "clunk" in the rear drivetrain when swapping tires. Sure enough, a U-joint in the inter axle driveshaft had decided to call it quits. 2 new Spicer 1410 from the local Traction store, a bit of pressing and very little swearing...done. Replaced a pinion seal on the middle axle...

    An American Deuce in Canada

The great thing about someone who can fabricate is that if he needs something he just makes it! Very nice looking bed! Glad to see your update. I have always been following your trail adventures...still remember the 1017 Mercedes rolling off the road.... Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

What did you do to your deuce this week?

@Dipstick , even with the FDC bypassed, the engine will happily burn the full variety of fuels (but without the FDC it will not try to compensate for varying energy density; the truck will feel fine with Diesel and feel like having more or less power with other fuels, depending on the fuel...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Lola and her new Michelin shoes! I agree wholeheartedly with @BHaas35 - breaking down the wheels, cleaning and painting, then reassembling everything is a lot of work. Removing six wheels from the truck and installing the six new ones felt like a holiday in comparison! The rims are the...

    M35A series brake shoes

A lot of brake friction lining material is produced in Asia, as are complete brake sets, for name brands. I have had the aftermarket shoes on mine since 2009 without issues. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Looking sharp there, Tracer! The one colour green is growing on me since I repainted mine. I was going to camo it, but I am holding off. I like the 383 Green.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Needed to move a 20ft container behind the fire station because the area will be graded and gravelled. Lola to the rescue! The container has a few built-in things, so weighs probably close to 6000 lbs.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

No, it is still with the Goodyear 286's. It is dry, so they work, sort of. I actually wanted a baseline before butting the "new" tires on. I could not get myself to mount them. Not, because it is hot, but because the mosquitoes are crazy. I donated a few quarts of blood today!! The steel...
