Hey all,
Made it home last Friday. The flight was unpleasant due to getting in and bumps. I was laid up for a couple of days.
Visited the deuce and made sure her tarp was situated. I took a few more pictures.
I just ordered the 3 spin on filter kits. Will probably order the soft brake lines...
And a trip to BFE, WA… I’ve got whitewash. ;)
Not that much of a windfall…
No idea about what bed combo I’ll wind up with. Totally depends on $$ and what I can swing. Her immediate future is just a flatbed and probably no bed for a while.
Cheers,
Spoon
Good morning all,
I had a $$ windfall! Looks like some payment on credit cards and spin on conversions for oil and fuel!
I’m still not home yet, but hoping to head home later this week! I’m super excited to get home.
My lifting and flexibility are quite impacted, but I may be able to Tom...
OMG!!! The possibilities are limitless! Grapple boom/dangle head… :)
If only vast amounts of $$$ and a massive shop for switching attachments. I’m drifting into mechanical porn while I’m recovering from surgery…
Cheers,

It just popped into my head. I’m planning to build a rollback bed and that’ll need hydraulics. A hydraulic winch makes total sense!
Now to start the research.

Awesome!
I’ve got a 1 ton chain hoist that is rigged up. I most recently moved my welder with it. I’m all about mechanical advantages.
I’ve got to say I’m extremely jealous of your concrete floors… drool…
I’m planning to pour a slab, hopefully next summer. Then it’s game on. A lift. A tire...
Really good advice! My tendency is to dive back in and try to get back to normal. My care team has me staying in the big city for the next 6 weeks.

Good morning all,
Back surgery went well. There was quite a bit of damage to the nerve at L4-5. The surgeon wound up doing a laminectomyy, facetectomy, and a partial discectomy in addition to a cyst removal.
I’m back in Bellingham for a few weeks before returning to my island. My deep nerve...
Location! Mine was on the island I live on. A massive hurdle for a possible buyer off island especially with the 10 day removal window. Arrange a barge, make transportation arrangements. A huge undertaking.
Thus my killer deal. I’m grateful that my tools have been breeding for the last couple...
Welcome!
I got mine for $$, have put in $$$ at this point. I will share what I paid in a pm. Looks like I’ll have more $$$ invested by the time she’s where I want her.
Cheers,
Spoon
Good morning,
The deuce was already there. The brigade picked it up from the DNR.
Access is complicated. There’s a mail boat that runs 3 days a week that can take a few passengers and freight.
For larger items, building materials, propane delivery, vehicles, etc there’s a service that runs a...
You guys are amazing!
An advantage of a PTO winch is that I already have one. But no cable. I like the idea of hydraulic due to the flexibility of that system. Reasonably easy to expand. Who knows maybe the deuce gets a crane or bucket…
My plan is still to convert the flatbed to a rollback. My...
Greetings all,
How practical is it to add a PTO to the spicer transmission? Would a 12v or 24v winch make more sense?
Back surgery is scheduled. I will have to stay on the mainland for 6 weeks after surgery. The best I can do for my build is to drool on all the builds here.
Cheers,
Spoon
Hello all,
I had a chat with the guy that was last working on the deuce. He said he was ready to fix the air system and brakes, but politics and shenanigans got in the way.
He also mentioned that the previous mechanic use veg oil instead of dot 5, if that’s the case, what would you do other...
Hello all,
A medical emergency has taken me away from my beloved project. A little urgent back surgery and I’ll be right as rain and tinkering on this awesome truck.
