I had this problem on my recently sold M1010. I found out it was the grey capacitor pack that was bad. If you still have this on the truck, you will notice that the plug on the factory wiring and the plug on the wiper motor will connect directly, without this capacitor pack. This was only...
Cool rig. Though I sold mine (awaiting shipper to pick up) I was going to build mine as a camper. Here was a drawing I did to get an idea of what I was going to do.
Well, as it is, it won't matter. I am selling this to another person who should be picking it up early next week. I replaced it already with a '97 Dodge Ram, extended cab, 4x4 long bed with a Cummins diesel. In the long run I will be money ahead and have a vehicle that can keep up with...
I thought about doing the grinder thing to the glow plugs but my thinking was, since most replacements are the larger terminal, if I ever had to replace one on the road, I won't have my grinder with me.
I did use fully insulated female spade connectors so I have no exposed metal. The whole...
I can answer the the connector question. They are standard .250 (1/4") female spade connector for a 14-16 gauge wire (blue insulation). NAPA or most any auto parts store would have them. Even electrical supply places or places that deal with car audio should have them as well.
First, do NOT use the stock lug nuts. They are not the right style and can damage the wheels and could not hold a torque setting. What you need is the "bulge" style lug nuts. I got mine from Summit Racing. They were made by Gorilla.
Here's a pic of H2 wheels with 35x12.5x17. Front is...
I was looking at AC60G's and Kennedy's QH and went with the Kennedy's because they had a sale a few weeks back. Seems like they have gotten very good reviews and happy to say I got all my Wellman 070's out without any issues and the new ones in. Took me about an hour and that included...
Actually 27 year old seals are prone to leaking. If one is leaking, buy a full gasket kit and replace all the external seals at one time. Just recently did this on another T400 I have for another project. Easier to do it once then continue to do them as they leak. Don't forget the...
I found out about them from TheDieselPage.com site. Bunch of testing and they found that these were better than AC-60 and when I bought them a few weeks back, they were on sale for $68 for a set of 8. Just check and they are back at their normal price of $80 for a set of 8...
Fearing the worst, I decided to tackle replacing the glow plugs. With a very happy surprise, all of them came out without any issues and none showed any signs of swelling. [thumbzup]
I replaced them with a set of Kennedy Diesel Quick Heat glow plugs. Changed all of the connectors over to...
Could be the master cylinder has a bad seal at the piston side (which attaches to the hydroboost part) and it somehow drained back into that system. You could also have a bad rear wheel cylinder which could leak into the drum housing in the rear.
Your soft pedal is because you have air in the...
I don't recall seeing it listed but did you replace your vacuum modulator on the trans? That was my problem... after replacing all the missing/broken vacuum lines. Now it shifts just like it suppose to.
How are you liking the Gear Vendors overdrive? I am about ready to pull the trigger on buying one. Visited their company last week and liked what I saw/heard. Would like a real world CUCV experience.
First off, I got your PM but not to bust you too hard but dude, it took me 4 times trying to read your message to understand it. Grammer, punctuation and at least reasonable spelling goes a long way. That said, here you go.
In the harness that goes to the DUVAC/TwinPut (i.e. blue boxes) there...
Okay, here's a question for ya. If these glow plugs are rated at 11 volts and someone does the "12 volt bypass" to remove a faulty resistor bank, will supplying 12 volts to them cause them to burn out or swell?
Okay, this brings up a good question. Should the RPM's "snap" back to idle when you let off the pedal or should it "progress" back to idle (like a slow motion back to idle)?
Being from the gas engine world, I am used to them kind of snapping back fairly quickly. My last diesel was 20 years...
So far, so good. Have it set to 10 seconds, which you can hear the solenoid click and the Wait light come on for 10 seconds then goes out. I can also use the manual override if needed or cycle the key again for another 10 second hit. I decided not to use the block temp sensor as they have been...
Just thought I should follow up. My electrical wiring friend was over yesterday to help do some work and he had seen this type of a timer before so was familar with how it worked. Using the TM, he figured out the stock glow plug wiring and how to modify it to use this new timer. We also did...
