Shackey................would love to see pics of the install of that detroit in the M543. Here in the states, it was the Multifuel engine. You also could find a Mack Endt-673 in a M62 that originally had the R6602 gas engine. That Detroit sounds sweet!!! the 6V53 is a good engine.

If its only 10 miles, can you work on it enough to drive it on its own power???? When I bought my M54A2, had a friend flat tow it with his dump truck. He had to wait a couple of days as he wanted a load of stone in the bed before he attempted.

Yep, dont scrap it. There are farther worse 5 tons for axles. Find a bed and put it on her, sell it to a collector or work her. Yes the 6602 is a gas hog but a great engine!!!
