I had forgotten how big the Stolly actually is. And, frankly, it doesn’t seem that big when I’m around it. Seeing it next to the M936A2 really gave me perspective!
I discovered the Merlin Archive from the Stalwart folks on Facebook. ( www.merlinarchive.uk )
The Merlin Archive allows you to search for British Military Vehicles by ERM. The vehicle ERM is a 6 character reference used by the ministry of defence (yes, that's the correct spelling of defence)...
Welcome and congrats on the acquisition. That’s a great looking truck. Not only was the M715 my first MV, but it was also my first vehicle as a teenager. I’d love to get another someday. Hope you enjoy yours!
I owned an Alvis Stalwart between 2005 and 2007 and regret selling it. I was rather excited when the opportunity arose to acquire another one! My 'new' Stolly arrived last week. The truck is a 1971 REME Fitters Mk 2 FV624 (Chassis No. STAL II 876, Vehicle No. 20ET33). According to Wikipedia...
@Another Ahab … is that a trick question? Awe… perhaps you are testing my knowledge. (y)
The Stalwart does not have axles. All 6 wheels drive and the front four steer.
Wow! What a day… pucker factor, worry, camaraderie from a brother with parts, thrill of a crowd, excitement of the winner’s circle, road side frustration, unconditional love from the GF, and ultimately the feeling of success by completing a mission!!!! So how are you feeling this morning...
So why was I looking back through this old thread...
I'm excited to say that I've acquired another Alvis Stalwart. My 'new' Stolly will be delivered tomorrow.
I was looking back through this thread (more on why in a minute...) and noticed that the album I linked to in a prior post is no longer active. I guess the albums went away in the last site update? So, I'll post the additional pictures here:

Congratulations @fuzzytoaster
All 6 vehicles entered this month are awesome and equally worthy of being the MVotM! I’d be happy to give all six a parking spot!
@kendelrio, buddy, I let you down. I thought for sure that orphans and puppies would do the trick.

“Daisy participating in our engagement photos from last weekend”
Just checking Sir…. You did get engaged to the young lady and not the truck… right?
rofl
On a serious, note…. You have done some outstanding work to that truck and congratulations on getting engaged!
Howdy from just north of Houston. Welcome to the site.
If you get the opportunity, please post some pictures of your MV!
As for meeting some locals, I’m sure @fuzzytoaster will post soon….
