    1962 Ford M151

You are correct, it looks like your M151 was part of the 2nd Armored Division, that's the 2 and the triangle on the left bumperette. Normally the number after the division would indicate the brigade or division separate under the DIV HQ, but the "426" doesn't match anything I can find for units...

Old girl put back on active duty

Very cool you got to use your personal MV for unit training, however PBs comment was spot on. I can't imagine that it would have been necessary had unit leadership exercised all the systems in place to ensure US military equipment was properly maintained. Budget cuts... Etc, etc, etc- got it...

Spray-on bedliner used to paint a MV?

I like the idea of a durable coating but every vehicle I've ever seen covered in bedliner was all faded and chalky in a relatively short amount of time. Especially in hot, sunny climates. Because of that I couldn't bring myself to paint the exterior of any of my vehicles in bedliner, but thats...

Ryme or reason to bumper markings?

Mark nailed it. Like I said before the abbreviations are consistent, but that's about as far as consistency goes. I came back from a tour in Iraq as a company commander and as part of our unit level "reset" my BN CDR wanted every company in the Brigade Troops Battalion (Signal company...

    How to stencil question

Brigade is abbreviated "BDE". For contemporary vehicles It would likely be: on one side, usually on the left when facing either the front or rear, "11 MP BDE" other side "HHC ###" with the ### representing the administrative number of the truck. Only the admin number is unique to the...

    SC meet and greet

This is my last chance for a southern SS event, so I'm going to commit. The 25th is about two weeks out from when I depart GA for the last time so I'm in. I'll bring a couple packs of hot dogs, and some soda. I'm not a SC resident, but I have family in Greenville so I'm closely affiliated. :)

Bobbed M813 from Anchorage, AK to Deadhorse, AK

Great pics. Sounds like a great adventure. I know Hilltop very well, one of my favorite places for breakfast. Makes me miss Fairbanks and AK even more. Wish I was still up there, I would have helped with your adventure. Based on my past inquiries with C&C they don't do anything to their trucks...

    Light switch question

Headlights and amber marker lights will not run at the same time by design. Your light are working correctly. There are several mods to make them run at the same time. A couple of threads document this very well.

    My new M38

As I was staring at it in the rearview for 11 hours I had a hard time imagining it in anything other than OD. I like the way tan looks on MV's but except for one restoration I've never seen an M38 in tan. I don't know if I could do it...
