Getting rid of all but M923A2.
PNW Steel Soldiers on FB is where a lot of the PNW guys hang out.. I think we're up to 800 members or so.
As far as the ladder goes....
I don't know your physical fitness level, but when I lived in my M934, I used the factory ladder, and had some 550 cord wrapped in a loop on the top step, so at night, I could just lift it up/in.
If you want to DIY steps and keep them light but rugged, Interwest...
Switch was indeed stuck. I shot it with a ton of contact cleaner and actuated it a bit. Seems to be working properly now. Not ready to take it out on the open road but 10' forward and reverse seems to have no issues.
--My filters are starting to show up.. Good lord... I bought a Baldwin...
The FB1311 base allows for dual inline filters.

I already bought them, and the filters, and plan on running AN10 line/fittings.
The only caveat is that filtration ability is inversely proportional to flow, so putting 2 filters in parallel instead...
Replace any wear items now, BEFORE you go out in the field.
This includes all fluids, belts, etc. Between oil, trans, transfer case, differentials, belts, etc figure about 1K$
Tie down points aren't the same as tow points. They have limitations.
Double check all bumper/frame bolt attachment...
I haven't gotten back around to messing with it. Transfer case seems super stiff, even aired down.. so I sprayed all the linkages and am letting it sit. Next step might be to remove the inspection cover and take a peek inside.
I'm gonna be testing the switch as well to see if it's stuck in...
This is (was?) Wes's ride....
M109 box mated to an M931... It's doable..
Finding an M931A2, that's for sale.... is another issue altogether... I think I've seen less than a dozen for sale in past 5 or so years, and the most recent one I saw was north of $20K.. They were made in very few...
NHC250 is old, and while parts are still available at Cummins dealers, there aren't that many people trained to work on them anymore.
You can get more power out of an 8.3, easier.
The 8.3 is quieter, and gets better mileage.
I went from an M934 with NHC250, to an M923 with 8.3L... for the...
Air burst nukes could easily generate an EMP that could impact large swaths of the country. It wouldn't need to be a ground effect detonation.
There are published articles on effects from test of things like STARFISH PRIME...
The cost difference is negligible to me.
1. Can I run 75W90 instead of 80W90 in TC and diffs?
2. Will I see any benefit using a synthetic instead of dino?
My experience with passenger vehicle diffs is a LOT different than heavy machinery... The 8.8 in my fords can take 75w90, 80w90, all the...
So, picked up my truck at auction... Got a good deal knowing it was a gamble... and .... here.... we... go...!
So, couple small issues.
Air leaks down pretty quick. I will have to put shop air on it and spray all fittings with soapy water. Pretty easy way to diagnose.
Also sounds like there...
They're not. They don't chase. They don't issue tickets.
Literally, all the criminals and tweakers have taken off their license plate or display a fictitious temporary (paper) plate. The only people getting penalized are law abiding citizens, since they stop. The others drive like idiots and...
