I fired up my M1010 heater in 20* weather. In about 10 minutes I was sweating. When they say it's rated for arctic conditions, they're not kidding. The amount of heat it put out, even on low, was too much.. The noise/amp draw was only a secondary reason for wanting to ditch it..
Make sure everything is fused.
The ignition switch is just that, a switch. A relay is just a switch operated by another, lower current switch.
Bat 1 goes to IGN 1
Bat 2 goes to ACC
Bat 3 goes to IGN 3
It's a very simple diagram, and, again, if you can't understand how to wire it, with a...
I'm really not trying to be a d%&k, but if you don't know how to wire it with the diagram I supplied, you shouldn't be messing with high current wires. You miswire a cigarette lighter or a voltmeter and you let the magic smoke out. You miswire the ignition and you could end up with a pile of...
So, to clarify...
One could - theoretically - bolt up a 1000 series Allisson auto, with an adapter plate and a custom flywheel?
So, we're looking at, what, 2K$?
I guess that begs the question... WHICH allison trans?
EDIT: Looks like the Allison TX200-6 ...
So, what other Allison trannys can be bolted up with that adapter?
934 box weighs a lot and because the sides fold down and up to become the floor and roof, mounting items to make best use of the space is near impossible. If you design it to operate when opened, it sucks when closed. If you design it to operate when closed, it's a waste of space when opened...
I didn't want to start a new thread so I guess I'll post a related question here....
Most of these trans mods are talking about are paired with an engine change.
What about the stock LDT?
IIRC, isn't one of the biggest issues with the LDT is that there's nothing that bolts up, and adapters...
Please do not remind me of all the $60 91/30s and $40 CRATES of 880 rds of 7.62x54r that I kept putting off every time I saw them.....
I hate you. rofl
It really doesn't help, that in WA, you can register based on GVW, but other things are based on GVWR... So, even though a tractor might be 25K GVW, it might have a GVWR of 100K....but you can register it as a 25K GVW vehicle... to lower the price of registration... but you're limited to 25K...
They're compliant with FMVSS, because they're exempt from FMVSS. This is per NHTSA and was settled years ago. Even Congress critters got involved. States don't care because they don't want them on the road and have a 'F#%& you, sue us if you don't like it' attitude.
It's not a safety issue...
Collector's vehicles cannot be used to haul a load. Enforcement is at the discretion of the officer. Technically, it would be illegal to haul a military trailer with a dummy 2000lb bomb on it used for displays, because it's a 'load', however one could argue that it's part of the trailer.

DOL is wrong. The law, being RCW, is correct. DOL doesn't make or enforce law.
You need a CDL to drive a commercial vehicle.
A 5 ton, by definition, is not a commercial vehicle unless used in commerce.
Other states have different laws. TX for example would require a minimum class B non-CDL...
