CUCV Heaven, My build of a 1009 and 1008

I have fixed that issue in the past. I used a hole saw and cut into the inside of B pillar where the nut is located and held the nut in place and then just put a plastic cap plug in place to fill the hole. Never noticed it. Good Luck. You can weld it good and strong and adjust it where it needs...

CUCV Heaven, My build of a 1009 and 1008

That's the door latch. The hinge bushings and pins must be really bad. Or the door is that poorly adjusted. I would replace the strikers and get a door latch from a donor door. Properly adjusted they do open and close like a newer truck. Good Luck.

    New to the CUCV world.

A few more pictures from the archives. I have all the parts to install. I think the roof can support this hatch with a little Dura-Plate reinforcement.

Just a few pictures from about 5 years ago. This is the turret hatch lid. A few pictures may be poor or unassigned but I wanted to show the mounting hinge.

    Can’t get a new radiator replacement M1008

I always preferred the plastic tank / aluminum fin radiators. I have plow trucks with 250K miles and never had the radiators out of them. That never happened with the copper / brass radiators in years past. Some things just got better with technology. Wheel bearings, exhaust systems, and engines...

    New to the CUCV world.

I have pictures if you would like to see it. I was going to put it on an M1009 roof just for the sake of doing it. I have a few extra roofs. Maybe I should mount it u and sell the finished roof assembly. Right now I have no time to play. But I will keep it in mind.

I have an APC turret hatch and mounting ring. That would work on your M1009.

Rebuilding after 15 years of storage

GREAT SUCCESS: I have sourced a new Delphi fuel lift pump for a CUCV. A Delphi HFP906. I am trying to do some negotiations to get more. I just wanted to put that out there. They are available but like other things there is a shortage of automotive parts and everything else. If someone is in dire...

    M1009 suppressor

Stock designed was the AC Delco 1111 I just want to keep that straight. The trays were made to accommodate the Military 6 TL batteries but all CUCV's left the factory with the A C Delco 1111 maintenance free batteries. I bought 9 year old trucks that still had the original batteries in them...

    M1009 Little Red Riding Hood.

Last night I spent the evening cleaning and sanding the rear cab roof flange on the M1009. This was a missed problem area on my past build. I must admit I overlooked the area and never liked messing with the roof seals of the M1009. I found that almost every M1009 I ever worked on leaked when I...

Rebuilding after 15 years of storage

Very Interesting. A ride on broom. I was always a push mower guy and still use the Honda HRX217 to push mow the lawn. I have 2 Honda tractors that I could use but I need the exercise. I see the ride on broom in your picture. WOW. Nice. I always sweep the shop with a push broom and every time I...

Last (and only) cold start advance/high idle post/question

I think he needs both. The one he showed on the drivers side rear was in rough shape and the harness was ready to short. But YES he still needs the fast idle sensor on the passengers side rear of the head. That is the expensive one. Good Luck. Take Care.

    M1009 Little Red Riding Hood.

I kept my word and was in the barn doing some seam sealer. I cleaned everything well and put a bead around each door and door opening. Then comes the messy part. I use my index finger and go around and press it into the seams. It looks great and covers well. After it was all done I closed the...

New injection pump and binding throttle mystery

That is the OEM glow plug sensor. I see you have 2 threads going so NO that does NOT control the fast idle. Someone already said that. But from the looks of that glow plug sensor it needs updated with the new sensor and plug. Check this out...

Expensive. I don't think they are hard to find. But I know they got expensive.
