Can anyone provide any information on the seat pictured below? What did it come out of?
This seat has been in my friend's father's garage for 10 years. According to the father, it is a WWII bomber seat. He couldn't bear throw it away, but wanted it out of his garage. So naturally, the seat...
Use #669
Meet some friends for lunch because one wants to give you a seat from a WWII bomber that their dad had in the garage for the last 10 years. Why give it to me? Because I’m the friend with all the old military stuff.
Congrats, Sir! That is exciting news.
I was really hoping that the fire truck would stay a fire truck.... but, hey.... it’s yours. Enjoy it how you like!!
Here is (from left to right):
M936A2 on 14’s
M35A2 on 395’s
M810 (I need to confirm tire size)
Note, there is a slight slop to the ground, but not much. The M936A2 is on the high end and the M810 is on the low end.
Congrats on your acquisition and on the successful recovery! That is exciting news!
My advice is read! Read the TMs and search/read the posts on SS. There is a lot of good information out there. If you are like me, you will also discover things that you didn’t even know to ask about. Then...
I had four dead Hawkers on my M936 and swapped in two Auto Craft Gold batteries (Part # 34FT-2). They are a good fit with plenty of clearance.
The wiring is still a bit sloppy and I need to add some wood blocks to secure the smaller batteries. But the good news is that it worked and the truck...
I’ll echo M35fan’s comments. I’m sorry for your family’s loss. Also, you shouldn’t have to stand on the breaks. The last time I had to “stand on it” in my truck, it turned out that I had a leaking wheel cylinder.
Keep us posted on your progress with the truck!
Things rarely go as planned.
I backed the Deuce into the shop early last March and tore the center axel down to replace a leaking wheel cylinder. I had the drums turned and got new cylinders and pads. My intent was to have it put back together by mid-March in time for the annual Texas rally...
Yesterday I bought a M936A2 and a M810 and it turned into a day I'll remember for a long time to come. Also, I have a feeling that Wes Simpson won't forget it any time soon either.
A friend of mine is selling his MV collection. When I expressed interest in his wrecker last July, he made me an...
That is a great looking truck! Congratulations!
If you decide that you really need a truck with a turbo, feel free to drop that one in my driveway anytime!
Ferretboy - You have an amazing piece of history and an awesome vehicle all in one! Thank you for sharing the story and pictures. The current pictures clearly show your talent and enthusiasm. I’m looking forward to more of your posts.
Wow! Those pictures and the video are amazing! Thanks for posting them.
Sir, if you want a 2.5 ton cargo truck, why don’t you make an offer on one of his other trucks? Why are you negotiating for the M45?
