Folks, I've got my butt handed to me today breaking down deuce tires. I have an Esco bead breaker and breaking the beads is no problem. The problem that has kicked my behind royally is getting the stupid tire over the lip where the ring seats. I got one over it but the one I'm working on now...
Today I took a little stroll (570 miles round trip) to NAS JAX to fetch my new to me M105. While there I spied these tires on a deuce. Pretty cool if you ask me!
Well, I couldn't be outdone by Mr 73M819 so I pulled the stops off the crane today. I needed to swap winches on the 108 but my little engine hoist has developed a problem. Attached are 2 static pics of how I swapped the winch. Sorry for the poor pics, had to use the phone.
Well, somewhere down the line I either lost or had a few items taken that I need. Does anyone have 2 fiberglass staves and 2 deuce bow corners they would sell and ship me? If I had a choice on corners, would really like 2 with the latches on the side for the dropside beds.
Thanks in Advance!
Well folks, shortly after 8AM (0800 for you Mike) the M275A2 tooks it's final turn out of my driveway and is now headed back to its new home in NC. Hank is planning a complete resto for the old girl. She has served me well but it's time to move on. I have a video but as usual, can't get it...
Well, I guess I haven't given enough M105 trailers away yet, just bought another one. JAX had about 5 for sale on this last event and I'd been watching a newer Parkhurst one. It sold for $550 and had no top. I settled for an older one with the big wheel landing gear. Got it for $315. It's in...
Folks, Devilman96 and myself will be hopping a jet a 1930 hrs enroute to TN to pick up the 2 dropsides we got back in October. Plans are to get there and drive home, everything else we'll wing it. We did ship ahead a towbar and I have the towing lights in my luggage. We should have everything...
Folks, I'm fairly certain that I'll get some grief from this but here goes. In the future I would like to buy a 50s M35 chassis. All I really need is the frame and data plate. Must be matching numbers with a fair to excellent data plate. My thoughts were to swap everything off my soon to be...
I have this M447C semi trailer in the back yard. It's in pretty decent shape for being 30 years old. I've already sold the air conditioner and both heaters from it. It has work benches on both sides with heavy storage drawers. Since I've sold my tractor, this needs to go. It's a 76 Southwest...
Andy Bell in Trezevant TN was kind enough to go to Lavinia to check out my 2 deuces. He also voluteered to help get them out to the road so that a wrecker (at the tune of $500) could move them. Not only that, he volunteered to store them at his place until I can getup to drive them back. Today...
YES I'M YELLING! IF ANYONE IS GOING TO LAVINIA, CAN YOU PLEASE CAST SOME EYES ON MY 2 TRUCKS? LOTS 7078 AND 7096. PICS WOULD BE A HUGE HELP AS WELL. SORRY ABOUT THE SCREAMING, I WAS IGNORED BEFORE. I'LL DO MY BEST TO MAKE IT WORTH YOUR WHILE.
I have what appears to be cover for the cab of the MTVR. This is a transport type cover like you see on Audis. It's a green shiny plastic looking substance and it has a zippered door to gain entry to the cab. Weird. Still have not competely unfolded it.
I've got a NOS conversion box for a trailer. The directions are dated 53 and mention the M21 ammo trailer. This is a box that is bolted and hardwired to the trailer and has an M series pigtail to hook up to a truck. Worth anything or should I keep the cable and scrap the rest?
Folks, we welcome TMs of all sorts here as long as they are related to our hobby. I do have to warn you though, in the approval process one of the main things I look for is that it's approved for public release. If it is not approved for public release I can't approve it on Steel Soldiers. It's...
Not purely military but check this out. Got my 4WD Hdwe catalog and saw these. Thought they would be ideal for the 1009. Scroll down the page.
