So what’s a clear sign the original shock is bad?
what I’m experiencing is when off roading (large rocks, holes, weight shifting side to side) very slowly I experience a lot of body roll and quickly stop the vehicle wait for it to settle down before proceeding. But on the road and I hit a...
So the other day I bought one Monroe 65456 shock. Took one of my front shocks off of my 2003 truck. The Monroe compressed and rebounded way way easier than my old original shock. So I returned the Monroe and reinstalled the original shock. Next I would like to get my hands on a NOS shock and...
I’ve driven mine over 34,000 miles and hundreds of off road miles. Yes the front axle steering u joints clunk when in mode! Makes a terrible noise. It doesn’t even require full lock turning I’ve experienced it in half turn primary when there is good traction. This past fall I replaced the drive...
Y’all are to funny! So you can sleep better at night, our parking brakes work by letting the air out of the brake cans and then the 4 separate brake cans have extremely strong springs that engage the brakes. The lack of air is a good thing. Highly unlikely all the springs would fail.
Typically...
Also it looks like the Monroe shock comes with 1” top and bottom bushing ID any thoughts on sleeving the with 1” OD bushings with a 16mm and 22mm ID’s?
Couldn’t find the length of the Monroe bushing?
Actually I think I found it 1 3/4” what’s the original shock bushing length?
Most of the blowouts are due to age. The XML’s are what came on the old original trucks from Stewart & Stevenson and those were the first trucks going up for auction and people driving on old tires.
Yes the XZL’s are the ones I liked most. Also comes with an extra 7/32 of tread similar to the Petlas.
I was getting approximately 10% tread wear every 5,000 miles with the XZL and 15% tread wear every 5,000 miles with the Goodyear and XZL+.
Currently on my Goodyears I’m averaging about 1/32...
You’re AWESOME. I’ve looking everywhere for that information.
Very similar to the Michelin XZL.
Honestly when I drove on the XZL’s they start with the most tread and wore the best meaning the least tread wear.
I’ve tested both Michelins and good years and monitored the tread wear and the...

The petlas are available and ready to ship just need technical data on them. And anyone with experience with Petlas.
The main point of this is the Petlas are New 2025 tires not surplus for a reasonable price. Trying to find more data on them.
We can buy plenty of surplus tires.
The above part numbers are all the various o-rings needed to do the job. Some are not listed in the diagrams below but are needed.
The above diagram and parts list shows some but not all of the o-rings needed.
Hope this helps anyone in the future.
Trying to do some research on these tires any information is welcome.
Can be purchased NEW! For around $1,000 each.
Does anyone know of someone that has used them with our wheels with the bead lock ring. Can’t find any technical information on them like bead thickness tread depth?
I was also thinking of doing this project. I currently run a diesel hydronic heater for the habitat heating and water heating. I don’t like the idea of using that one for the engine I’ve heard of bad stuff doing that. So I was thinking about adding a second one for the engine because my 120 vac...
I missed you, 6 weeks ago we were in Tucson. We left flagstaff area yesterday heading towards Taos, NM. Then continuing north. I’m still running my original 100 amp alternator with 42,000 miles on her. Would have loved to got your 100 amp alternator for a spare. But shipping costs and not...
