I made some huge snow piles with the loader and the lot pusher. I think we will have snow up till Memorial day. Cleaning up piles of snow with a 3 yard bucket is like trying to empty a box car of salt with a teaspoon. Mindless, monotonous work. But it pays well. And with a heated cab it is nice...
In the US that truck would be scrapped with that damage. I see newer stuff that has been scrapped with equal or less damage. Labor and parts to repair vehicles is high. Add an air bag or 2 and it is gone. In Pennsylvania it is a task to get a clean title from a wrecked vehicle. That...
That picture is very pretty but it does not depict the timing gear on the CUCV 6.2 engine. the ones I have worked on have a round hole, an oblong hole and 3 bolt holes. my first time out I tried the round hole. Then looking at the old injection pump face I seen the distinct marks from the round...
Amperage is the KILLER. Load test all batteries. Low Amperage Batteries are the problem. Voltage is a minor part of the issue. Good Luck. Fix things as they fail. No need to redesign the system. Besides I don't want all them open positive leads under a completely steel negative dash. I seen a...
The fan clutch hub will center itself on the water pump. Do as you wish but you are way over thinking these studs to attach the fan. If they were the sole centering shoulders I would be with you. But being that the hub center fits into the fan clutch center they are just there. Good Luck.
Just bolt the fan on with a bolt that fits the threads in the water pump flange. Use lock tight and a lock washer if it worries you that much. A bolt that fits and gets tight is all you need. No special rocket science needed for this application. It was an assembly design that made quick...
I think he is talking the injection pump. That is the only thing I can figure that rotates and the bolts only line up one way. The stud on the pump goes thru the oblong hole in the timing gear. Get it lined up and push it in place. align and start all 3 bolts by hand before you thoroughly...
Get the real thing. Get the Goodyear MTR. You will pay more but you are buying a 1st class tire. I have bought many sets of them. Second up is the Goodyear Duratrak. Good Luck.
Divorced transfer case. Yes they were awesome plow trucks. Maybe I got my tall boys mixed up with my Budweiser bottles. A few of them years were a blur back then. Now the CUCV is bleeding the transmission fluid into the transfer case and out the vent of the transfer case. Always something. Take...
Today was not a good day for CUCV plow trucks here at the truck plant. Both CUCV's had transmission failure. Honestly if it were my call they would both be scrapped. I am getting better service from newer trucks now. I didn't think I would ever say that but I have been using newer trucks since...
Sorry to report that I have been making zero progress on my project. I have been working 60 hours a week at my day job. Snow has been relentless. That along with broken loader pins and just keeping things going have me frazzled. I think I am going to order the wing vent seals and replace them in...
I have never seen any difference in any starter bolts. I buy M10 starter bolts and they are from a local supplier. I never had many issues with good batteries and the starter properly shimmed or un shimmed. Making sure you have it attached at the front brace and no teeth are chewed out is also...
You will need to check the depth of the starter gear engagement. The depth of the gear into the flex-plate. It is possible you have a deep engagement and it is forcing the starter to rock back and forth. Do you have any milling of the flex-plate teeth? If you have a bad spot the starter must...
