GI way was to install the front end curtain first all the way down and just the top part of the back, then put the top on. Kept water from getting inside while moving.

Several of us here on SS have piston assemblies (piston, liner and oiler) because we got them back in the early 20-teens when a lot of that stuff got surplussed. Finding where they have been squirreled away will be the problem.
