M353 MICLIC Trailer vismod build (rocket launcher)

If you need nozzles, Dave, I have an extra set. I also know where a couple of those boxes are, if you don't get the ones above. My son's as yet unrestored M200-based MICLIC trailer is complete except for that top Y-arm/launch rail bit. I may put him in touch with you when he gets home (he's...

    Trailer ID

"A lot" of the body. :p I'm going on the M103 ones I have looked at up close, mostly ABS with some metal. All cool! CMT-F is just a flatbed version of the M1101/1102 types. What they put generators, A/C's, etc on. Cheers..R PS- the first of Mwmules pictures is mine that I got off Ft Hood...

This site is like CRACK! So, I bought a 5 ton....

Not at all! Mine is the camo one. It has stock height bows, so the tarp comes most of the way down the bed sides. The overall green one was on GL some years ago, and had raised bows. The rounded bows on the 813/939 series are different from the peaked tubular bows on the FMTVs, so...

    Trailer ID

Looks like one of the M103A3 welding trailers, but this one appears to be on a CMT-F type chassis. A lot of the body is ABS plastic, and the roof pops up as a canopy. Cheers

I imagine a 16.00 would fit, but not without some modifications to the tire rack for the larger diameter. It is set up for a pretty tight fit, but could be adjusted. The tire is held in the rack by a fixed block on the upper right (davit side) and the clamp arm on the left. The diagonal...

    WWII bridging trailer ID?

I've been trying to help another chap identify the truck and trailer in this picture, but WWII vehicles are not my strongest area of knowledge. The truck is an International K-series, does anyone know the exact model? Can anyone identify the pontoon trailer? Thanks, and cheers

The ISO bed is very versatile. Each side is divided into two sections which can be dropped individually, or together. The sides can be easily removed (but they're heavy!) and slide into a rack under the bed. The troop seats slide into a rack below the sides. (This is an excellent place to...

Reconfigured CUCV front end with Infa-Red light

Being me, I had to know what it would have looked like without moving the slave port from the normal position, so a couple of minutes in Paint, and... I think amg72 got it right the way he did it, looks much more balanced, and aesthetically pleasing. Down low would still work, but looks kinda...

    What Does C + G Within A Plus/Cross Mean?

Yes, that's why I was thinking maybe it had a permanent load in it (Generator? Pump? Or..??), thus needing a painted marking? Coasties usually mark their stuff USCG. Cheers

The ISO bed is Marine Corps specific, they replaced the stock beds on M813s with them during rework, and also put them on the M939 series. The M813/939 ones are 15' long and are not the same as the MTVR beds, which are shorter since the spare is not mounted inside. (Yes, I measured both beds...

This site is like CRACK! So, I bought a 5 ton....

As you suspected, at 15', the ISO bed will not take the standard 14' 5-ton fitted tarp (no matter how much you sweat and cuss, I know, I tried). An MTV/M1083 (modern 5-ton) tarp will fit, but it is around 10-11 inches taller. This means you can raise your bows by that much, or just have it...

    What Does C + G Within A Plus/Cross Mean?

Usually marks Center of Gravity. I personally have not seen that marked on a trailer, maybe they had a particular odd load in that one? Cheers

Interesting truck, looks like a Marine truck with Army markings on the bumper? Is the serial number USMC######? (Not asking for the actual serial, just the format). Cheers PS - I only had one truck, at one point...... :-?

    AN/ VDR-2 deuce installation

When it rains, it pours- I was poking around a small-town junk shop yesterday, and found two of these mounts (less the angled bracket in WSUC's post). From this thread, I knew what they were, so I bought them both (for $15). Stopped at another junk store nearby, and lo, there was another one...

    CCKW Data plates in Norwegian

Yep. Here is a picture of one I took in Norway in 1980, when I was stationed there with the Marines. The Norwegians were still using them actively, and they looked showroom fresh! Cheers
