RE: Re: RE: Deuce ownership?
I didn't mean to imply that it needs a "fix". Sorry for the confusion.
I was just going to extend an invitation to get together, if you were interested. There are 4 local deuce owners with 8 deuces and more coming.

Interesting item. I "Googled" the NSN and found out the following.
FSC (Federal Supply Class) 1440 is Guided Missiles
The seal is still being made at a contract cost of $12.38, with a DEMIL code of "A"
It's listed as part of a "Launcher,Guided Missile" but I found no reference as to which...
Typically, they were (I guess still are) used by assorted command posts, medical aid stations and such in track laying outfits like Armor, Mechanized Infantry, Field Artillery and some Combat Engineers.
They had a gas engine driven 4.2 kW 28 Volt generator in the basket above the engine. It has...
A buddy and his wife have been going there for years. she makes the reservations. I'll check with her tonight and post back.
doghead- I'll be with Ed K (L-Z Army-Navy). and he says we should be just inside the gate, next to the registration tent again. I'm looking forward to meeting you.
I'd like to buy an M813A1 and the prices lately are up at least $1,000 and they spike much earlier than they had been.
Guess I'll keep looking but I think I'll hold back at current prices.

A month or two back I sold a Deuce, with a SF-97 without titling it first. The Deuce was a '71. The buyer and myself are both NY residents.
A CUCV will be a different kettle of fish.
NY began issuing titles in '73. Any '73 or newer vehicle will have to be titled prior to transferring...
At 18" less the thickness of a mattress or pad it'd be tighter than the old style assault troopships. You'd actually have to get out to turn over.
Years ago I had a Class C motor home that was so tight that I had to fold my shoulders (think human taco) in order to roll over. Not very restful...
Well, the #1 son and I were talking today about driving down for this.
Kind of thought about driving an M1009 or M1008.
After reading all the posts, though, we may bring an M35A2C with an M105A2 and an M1009/M1008, with a pioneer tool trailer. (for a generator, light set, mechanics tools)...
ida34: you're correct. I'm all ate up.
I just got my head out of my fourth point of contact and looked at the 20P also.
Now I've got to look on the shelf and see which booster I've got. I was counting on it for both types of trucks. Guess I'll be in the market for the other one at Gilbert...

The above post is only partially correct. An M1009 master cylinder will be weak for a loaded M1008/M1028 etc. There's (from memory) about a 2600# difference in GVWR between an M1009 and an M1008.
The hydrovac assembly, however, is the same for all CUCVs. The master cylinder for the...
I'm looking for a digital copy of the TB to get paint pattern and marking info on M35s, CUCVs and M105 and M101 trailers.
I'd also like to paint an S-280 to match my 35A2C's body and cargo cover so it looks "right" when in the truck.
Thanks
Lance
