Welcome from Ohio. Come to the rally next fall at Durhamtown or the big military show in Findlay, OH in May or the Haspin Rally in June in Indiana.

Military identification painted on vehicle. Illegal or okay?

My 5-ton has CV-63 painted on the front. Pretty sure the USS Kitty Hawk never had an M813 on it. ;-)

2000 mile road trip in an FMTV

I read the thread and didn't see where you are picking the truck up from? I had a guy and his brother fly to Dayton and buy a Deuce from me and drove it to Amarillo, TX. The only problem was a broken fan belt and I had included a new set of belts with the truck, along with a bunch of parts...

    Illinois humvee title problem

Sometimes even moderators need a refresher on the rules... HMMWV Titling Questions. The newly released HWWMVs are being sold with an "Off Road Use Only" restriction. Any discussion on having your HMMWV titled as "on-road" or how to get the vehicles titled for "on road use" will get you banned...

    Illinois humvee title problem

Thanks for posting this Juan. A lot of people forget that little item, and I did too until the feds audited me and my EUCs. This thread is turning into an example of why we don't allow insurance threads, too much shady information that may result in law enforcement action or exposure to...

    Illinois humvee title problem

Pretty sure Ohio is one of those states requiring resident's vehicles to be titled and plated in the state.

    daily driving m35a2

Well right there's your problem, carp in your oil. If mine had carp in it I'd change it to and switch brands of oil. Carp screws up everything. (No, I could NOT resist.) :-)

    M101a2... brake...slam...skid...slam...skid

I can't imagine the damper shock going up over 100% in price in the last 4 years. Holy cow! That's some serious inflation. I bought one from eTrailers for $60 (4 years ago) to replace one Gimpy loaned me.

I'm told don't go with a FMTV, go with a 2-1/2 Ton Deuce I like the new technology

I'd certainly want to read that myself. While anything mechanical/electrical can fail I highly doubt that any of the newer trucks are that more reliable than a Deuce. No, this NOT saying I don't like the newer trucks or putting them down.

Deuce rollover angle - useful if you want to mount an inclinometer

The gauge on yours read 90 at the end before the 108 picked it up...... ;-)

US Radio Interoperability Exercise November 4-6

Congrats on the General. I've been a member of the ARRL since becoming an amateur radio operator and I highly recommend membership. They just did an update on the 25 2-man teams they sent to Puerto Rico for 3 weeks to provide communications where needed.

    HMMWV doors

The answer is yes, the 8-year old ad was still available. The items for sale however were not. ;-)

    Used motor oil as undercoating

They make an undercoating. https://www.fluoramics.com/hinderrust/ If you buy any of their Hinderrust USE GLOVES. That stuff gets on your fingers and it behaves in a not so nice fashion ad you don't want it in your eyes. They call it surface active which means it spreads out over everything...

    Transportation to Ga rally needed

You should have taken them with you. :-) I have about 10 cords of wood that no one wants around there because they want me to cut it, split it, deliver it and put it in their fireplace as needed. I'll just let it rot since the lazy @sses don't want it.
