Sorry to hear that Karl. At least when they broke into my place the second time a few weeks ago the security features worked and they got nothing.
One of the things that bother me though (other than the first time they disassembled the siding) is that the big sliding doors are a weak point...
I put the LED tail lights on my 5-ton and they just worked. I hooked them up to a battery charger first and tested each lead first though to make sure the labels were correct.
If it were a modern vehicle with a power control system for lighting in it I would say it was a resistance problem...
Since you are doing a 5-ton you might want to consider getting some sort of lift to a} remove the wheel/tire and b) to remove the drum. The rest is manageable by hand.
We did JW4x4s right and left at different times in the last year and it was a game changer having a fork lift.
