I'm going to assume that the grease is just to keep the gasket from sticking so the next time you take it off it will not rip. So either side. I would put it on the side that tuches the hub so the gasket will stay with the axle.

Sounds like you need to look at the parts book. It will show you every nut ,bolt, washer, hose , and what ever else you need to see.

The t's and elbow all came from a dealer on ebay. I'll get you a link. The quick conect came for a diferent guy but I think he had more. The valve s I got years ago I'll get the numbers off the packages for you too. I'm at the inlaws so went I get home I'll post it here and shot you a pm.

The TM say 1/2". It seems to me that 9/16" has been talked about on here. I think snap-on and some other make square sockets for drain plugs. They may fit better than a wrench.

Thanks, the M197A1 seems too have the same brakes. I printed off the pages from both TM's and the parts all seem to be the same. So now at last I have a pic to go with the part numbers.
