My generator pulley clutch just crapped out. Was trying to find out how to replace just the clutch but ended up replacing the whole thing. What a pain.
Decided to replace the generator with my spare one. Will deal with the pulley clutch later on. What a pain to replace this one person and no engine lift or hoist.
Wellll, i found the culprit. The generator (alternator) clutch is spinning free both directions. Now not charching and probably was getting bad. Any good way or source parts to rebuild this section? I have another good generator but would prefer to fix this one mounted vs dealing with replacing...

Replaced my power steering fluid as i got water into the system. Fort lauderdale, FL was floded and access to my house was floded to around 37" all other fluids were good but i replaced anyway.
Did you hook up your starter as a 12V by chance? Possible and makes a weird noise. Not enough juice to start properly unless the engine is hot. Worth to check.

Whatvkind of AC compressor do you have? Does it have a green wife attached or a screew to the body were a connector might attach? Mine has a green wire attached to it not sure if it is the same.
