Preparing to get an LDS ready for the swap - questions

I think you will be happier if you put a new set of head gaskets on it and go through them along with the pop-testing and adjusting the injectors. I believe this is what Gimpy did to his a couple of months ago on his LDS. (Although he did need a gasket.)

    My M1009, what to do...

If I had a choice between a non-running 818 and that CUCV I'd take the 818 every time. To say that is a lot of rust would be an understatement and I'm not even a body man.

Coffey Jeep Pickup before Mariatta parade

Funny Ken, I drove that at the Georgia Rally in 2013. ;-) It's going to a good home Dave.

Yet More coolant issues! 84' M923

I'm saying Artisan was worried about a lab calibrated thermometer vs boiling water or ice to test it and that isn't a good place to spend his time. Nothing about what you did.

    Trailer id???

Yeah it looks like something I'd make and tried to forget. ;-) It looked like one of the pictures showed a data plate on the back, not all the pics opened so I could not say for sure but Gimpy is correct, home made.

Yet More coolant issues! 84' M923

Based on Monrovia's elevation of 571' above sea level I doubt you are going to change the boiling point of water much from 100 degrees C (212F) and a couple of degrees on checking the temp of an engine is not going to matter. If it does...you are running a little too close to the edge. Cube of...

    Custom bumpers

Yeah, but the free one was for the big MRAP. ;-)

Best route heading North from Robins AFB in a newly won A2?

Plug it into Google Maps and tell it no highways. 129 to 23 is what it says.

    Custom bumpers

I wish I had taken the member up on the free MRAP bumpers that he was giving away in Columbus a while back. I'd like to put one on my M813.

MadDawg's new CUCV M1009 - recovery NY to VA, 375 miles

Welcome back to the owner's group Mike. Put a multi-fuel in the 101 and take it up to 70 and see if it is better with a small load. :-)

    Godzilla - M37 Info

Changed title a bit. I do not want my Japanese relatives to freak out reading the site.

    Towing a M105a2 w/ civilian Pick Up ?

At least mine was straight, only 1 mile on the road and a turn into my driveway, unfortunately that darn "winged" Dodge would not tow that 15,000lbs at 10-15Mph, it kept running me up to 25 and that was going up a slight grade. I should add that mine was safe enough by my standards to have my...

since titling seems to be a hot topic

Yes. As we wait with anticipation any changes coming from DLA regarding HMMWVs we would like to remind anyone that we are not allowing the site to be cluttered up with continued discussion on it at this time. If and when it happens then we will review this stance. Thank you

    Towing a M105a2 w/ civilian Pick Up ?

I almost feel bad about towing my Deuce with a 105 trailer with my Dodge 1500 4x4. Emergency and safely got it home. Yes, it would pull it easily and stopped well too at very low speeds. Only problem is in grass the Deuce me everywhere it wanted to go. As for the contest I have 138 kidney...

    SoCal to Ohio and back

Funny, I remember driving back to Ohio from San Diego in 1980 and the only two places I remember are Hooker, OK and Liberal, KS. I guess I went through Texhoma as well. I'm along I70 in western OH if you have a problem.

    Illinois to Maryland

Heck, you'll be by me on the way home before I even get off work today or I'd wait up at I70 and SR127 and wave to you. :-)

    My opinion

One of the benefits of being a moderator is we can post in locked threads. I did not pay GE to say that about me. ;-)

    My opinion

Like I said, I was just teasing. :-) We were happy to do it and I'm glad I had the truck.

    My opinion
