I'll be headed up there before 7pm Thursday. Brutus is fueled up and pointing at the exit sign. All I need to do is jump in and mash on the skinny pedal. :driver:
Good News! I was able to pull some strings so we could have a barbeque courtesy of the SS Rally Chow Fund. I figure we have enough for some steak tacos and hot dogs on Saturday. If someone wants to bring chicken we can put that on the BBQ too.
Fair warning to those with GPS. Mine evaporated last summer on a hot day, went into the store came back out gone. I think this new plastic they use must be water based, so try to keep it out of the sun.
Well since we are on the topic of Duramax engines, here is a video of one that was put into a 65 Impala. They make it look easy if you have the right tools and 10 guy's that know what their doing. It was originally aired on a show called Pimp My Ride a few years back.
Never mind the Governator...
That must have been one heck of a trip. Nice to see pictures, nice to see truck made it OK and nice to see you made it OK. I imagine you must not want to see the inside of a MV for a while. How much fuel did the truck use on the trip?
We have cell phone service about 5 miles into the diagonal road after that nothin'. I'll have the CB on channel 5 for any lost souls and a good set of binoculars to search for the flaming donuts. You might get there before me so feel free to set up by the community fire pit or where ever you like.

This could be one of those experimental dehydrated HMMWV's, just add water and fluids and it comes back to life.
Did you guy's sweep for land mines, get rid of sharp rocks and anything else that might damage our tires on the way in? I did not see the porta-potties set up in the in any of the pictures....Why?
I thought that is why you needed a locker for the snow and mud? I can understand driving on a icy road with lockers is a no no. I was thinking about putting lockers in mine, been stuck in the mud and thought "if only it had locker's".
Facilities are up on a hill behind some rocks overlooking the campsite it's really beautiful, I'll point you out to it. While you''re doing your business it's a perfect photo op if you can multitask.
Junkie I don't think you need ramps for that car, just a guy in the front to lift and one in...
Make sure to take care of any squeaks (besides the usual pretrip inspection) inside the cab. Those will drive you nuts on a long trip. I took my truck on a long road trip and any bump I hit the drivers seat would squeak, it drove me nut's. If you compound that with any other variables like bad...
