Yep, same item different numbers, may not work as you describe because if the drum end is bent bad enough (which I think it is) it will not clear the pin hole which is a tad bigger then the pin on the case side facing the drum, the only way is to straighten enough to be able to pull the pin...

:73m819: Yep, old age is worth something, done most of this crap or something like it at least once before, Before you do, pull the springs, then put the handle back on (or vice grips), this may help to turn it up

try comming down between the drum and the side case with a flat peice of iron like a 90 deg scraper, either force it out or get it turned so the bend is uo and then try to knock it straight by hitting the bend down,, maybe enough to get it out

take the WHOLE unit out, then fix/rebuild/replace, the nut that has the slots in comes out IN tm9 2320-260-34p-2, figure 380, there is a NICE exploded view, of the winch, upper right, item 24

Well, I went though ALL the winch stuff, nothing about rebuilding the motor so I can find out what kind it is (may have missed it), but I can now REPLACE it in my sleep

the motor should be a vain motor, if it works one way, should work the other

think you need to look at the -10 and the 20p (parts book) the left front keep the cap on for the time being, the right side needs to be vented out but tight in ( no valve on right front, just checked), try without the cap on the right (pas side)

NOT SO, doubles and triples, go down the road every day, transfer dumps (they pull a full trailer) are a every day thing in CA., hay OTR rigs with 26' trailers go down the road all the time., bottom hopper doubles are seen everywhere., short log haulers use a straight truck and a full trailer...

The air couplings on the front and the rear are called glad hands, there is a valve just above each one of them, this valve works in reverse of civi valves, if the handle is in line with the glad hand it is OFF, if the handle is 90 deg. to the glad hand it is OPEN

It is a hyd drive winch, so HAS to be the control valve, not enough room in the winch drive gear case for the worm gear to out of alignment, if it did, there would be a busted case,. As far as the broke fairlead, somebody in the past may have doing a SNATCH recovery, or a tree would not come...

Well it has been over a YEAR since the LAST up date, as you ALL know, funds have been nonexistent for the wrecked wrecker repair, well it looks like things may finally come together, thanks to another member that I am helping to put his wrecker together, so it looks likes the following parts...

Deuce-2 1/2T OFF road, 5t ON road 5t------5t OFF road, 10t ON road

How do you plan on working the brakes, this would be a lot of trailer without.
