Mine was $704, including GL's 10%:)
Came with a new: radiator, steering wheel, wheel cylinders, almost new tires, and one new wheel!
Did NOT come with: boarding ladder, anything inside, turbo (though I am getting used to that) and good batteries!
The one I am watching appears to be open on my watch list, the photo link works, and it has bids on it (and has received bids recently) but the link to the actual auction page gives:
Sorry, No Lot Found, or Lot pulled by Sales Admin team.
My M109A3 is a non turbo and has a muffler, but it is still sort of noisy, but not anywhere near the sound of the M35A2, the turbo in that one is LOUD! If your wife won't do ear covers how about ear plugs? Carpet won't stop the exhaust noise but keeps it from reverberating in the cab so it...
Austin eh? Come to the Lonestar MVPA meeting this Wednesday night at the museum at Camp Mabry, there should be at least three CUCV owners in attendance (including myself) and we should be able to get the ball rolling for you! Meeting starts at 1900.

As for water in the fuel, I think that is more of a...
My wallyworld does not sell them, had to go to NAPA. I thought about using the stock bracket for offset but that would have put the filter too low and there would not have been enough clearance over the valve cover to get the filter off, and I thought it would get warn that close to the motor.
