Leaving Friday morning 24 April, returning tentatively 27 April.
Empty M925 with either a CUCV or a 1ton Dodge on towbars behind it.
CUCV or 1ton Ram for the drive back.
Thanks!
I'll have a 1ton Ram and an empty M105. I'll be coming back to Tucson. Looking for some help with fuel costs.
I'll go out of route for reasonable fees.
Thanks
M1009 CUCV to LA, then M35A2 back to Tucson. Empty both ways.
I can take an M1101 both ways if it facilitates something. I can also take towbars if that makes something happen.
Looking for some offset to fuel costs....
NOS CUMMINS 8.3 block in crate/pallet from Tucson to NC. I can drop it at the freight terminal here in Tucson or we can get it off my M925 onto your vehicle somehow (last one I sold we got about 5 of us and yanked it by hand)
Destination is commercial address with a forklift.
Pallet 4x4x3...
Is the block for our M939a2 trucks the same as used in a 325 HP 8.3 in a motorhome from the late 90's?
Yes, I searched. Yes, I called Cummins. Yes, I called several parts places to ask for numbers. No answers forthcoming.
Old bad block motor number is 45383673. New block part number is...
These bumpers aren't as heavy as you'd think. Listed weight is something like 159lbs, before modification. Modification includes lopping off 18 inches and adding some 4" channel to bolt to the trucks frame.
It's still a work in progress. I'll update with more pics once I have it completed.
I picked up some slave plugs and ordered some 1/0 Welding Cable to use to assemble some slave cables.
The cable arrived and is smaller in diameter than my existing slave cables. My understanding is slave cables are 2/0, so I had every intention of the 1/0 cable being overkill, even when used...
I'm trying to find a way to get a winch here from NY.
Or if we can get it to GA maybe I could hit CARNAC up to drag it back here with him when he comes, not that I've discussed it with carnac. ...
Delivered the hmmwv hardtop and M1101 this morning.
I've been selling ammo cans every time I stop for fuel - people come walking up to talk about the trailer and end up with some cans :). I brought a trailer full and bed of the redtruck full of cans. Hoping to not take any home with me...
I'm driving my 3500 RAM empty to Dallas to retrieve a 5ton.
Anything I have for sale would come with free transport along the route or I'll move your stuff for fuel $$. Truck has pintle hitch and 2" standard receiver. G56 and 4.10s.
Sometimes I find myself bidding on things because they're heavy and made out of steel, or because they come in nice crates. These are both.
Part number 2198200034. Turntable for M984A1.
What exactly are they?
(Can't add pics - may try again later)
3755 miles. Indianapolis (retrieve truck) to Clarksville TN (trailer pickup) to Kansas City (drop trailer) to St Louis to Columbus OH(pick up m109a3 on towbars) to Waco TX(drop m109a3 and towbars) to Tucson. I've had enough seat time for a while....
So today on the side of the road I learned that the switch to the left of the steering wheel on M931A2s changes where the fuel gauge reads, but NOT where the fuel feeds from. That function is performed by a nice little lever to the left rear of the driver's seat.
Extreme caution should be used...
Taking my M925 to grab some stuff from Nellis. Not a whole lot of room left over after 7 Engine Blocks and a hmmwv turtle top but perhaps I could squeeze something in. I'll be going back to Tucson afterwards.
I've been contemplating fabricating heavy bumpers for CUCVs. I don't have a CUCV but I have access to a bumper off of a 1988 k5 blazer and intermittent access to that truck for measurements. If I make the bumpers to fit this k5 will they also fit the CUCV? My research says yes, but I want to be...
