Was the engine running before the fuel pump replacement? Fortunately there's not a lot to these, if the fuel's getting to the cylinders at the right time and the starter is turning the motor over, you generally have a running engine. Good luck!

It clanks quite a bit, call it 15+ times per rotation. I also find that if I lean a little on the clutch (pulling it towards "In") then the drum locks up virtually instantly. Is there any internal adjustment on the clutch?
