DD put it very well........ The customer needs to understand that staying open and having the product available on your demand probably constitutes more of the cost than the original inventory investment.
Re: RE: Suggested paint colors for Deuce (other than OD or c
Would you know of any examples? The only deuces I have seen in white did not look good but they were not accented; kind of caused the truck to lose it's character.
Yellow deuce......... I will have to think about that. Can't picture it in my head.
Black with yellow or red contrast is interesting. Know of any examples to view?
Scare stripes.....maybe 10 years ago but too much gray hair today...
Hi Y'all.
I may be getting back into the timberframe business (closed last Feb. because of a fire at the mill that destroyed most of the equipment and inventory). Need a small fleet of trucks for construction: dumptruck (already possess M35A2); logging truck(already possess M35A2)...
The jeeps manufactured for the civvie market after WWII were often promoted as an alternative to farm tractors because of PTO. I don't know if the wheels had to be turning or simply let out the clutch for PTO operation. Any of you jeepers know?
On reflection, I have to agree that the value on the hardtop may be low;
However, if I understood the post correctly, Michael is looking at the value added on the truck for purchase as opposed to fair market value of the item.
Could probably part almost any decent truck for more than a person...
Re: RE: Re: RE: profit margin..
Those numbers are not unreasonable. I add value for: air-shift front; dropside bed; 11.00's v. 9.00's; distance from my location......
Re: RE: profit margin..
Had the same question the only time I sold to a fella on this site. I had a "regular price" but offered it to a member at a lower "member price". Of course there are additional considerations of friend's price and what is going to happen to the item.
Most people don't...
Let's see.....have guys who can inspection for me....pickup for me......store for me...
therefore, I can more easily acquire more of the toys I normally have to pass on bidding because of such complications............
This is heading to only one logical end...........BANKRUPTCY!!
Count me...
Well, I am not sure it is quite that simple.
What a person pays for something and what it is worth is not always the same.
I bought an excellent deuce from a member and paid his asking price which was less than he had in it.
If you pay $2500 for a truck at GL.... get home and the engine...
Thanks for the post and advice. However, the way that PTQ530C worded the post would imply that it was something particular to these trucks that "civilians" would not normally know.
Re: RE: Push button light switch
What is the "get me home" feature on the old lever 3 way? I know "back in the old days" when cars had the push button dimmer on the floor.... If the dimmer went bad then you could hold the switch down with you foot to keep the lights burning. Better have some...
Re: RE: Re: RE: spell check
Yep! One of the chosen few! Actually 55% is the majority, so if you are in the majority....... then the people who can't read it are the weird ones... first time I have ever been in the "normal" class (feels strange....).
RE: Re: RE: spell check
Well...seems some folks have a hardt time unerstandin me so I repeet myself jest in case (and sometimes folks accidently hit the send button twice).
